Creative! I love all your videos, I have decided to start my own sketchbook now when I have gotten so many ideas from watching your sketchbooks. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and your experience!

Just stunning! You inspired me to swatch all my Roman Szmal Aquarius watercolors in similar way. I have too many pigments and feel overwhelmed and I think that using them all in small pieces is the best way to learn about them. I plan to paint a lot of jellyfish 🪼

Tottaly agree that synthetic brushes are great. One of my biggest regret is that I've bought sable brush (about 20 years ago) because someone suggested it is necessary...

Im obsessed with doors and windows too, I love drawing a window with a scene outside like your looking through the window from inside, I also love rickity old steps leading up to worn wood doors!!!

New follower here, hi! And greetings from Oulu, Finland. 😊 I really resonated with what you said about the brushes and preferring synthetic over natural hair. This is something not enough discussed by the artists on youtube, so I'm so happy when I find someone sharing my view on not killing an animal over a brush. ❤

Fishyfishfishfish. Just so you know, even if this was a little embarrassing for you, nothing about this was embarrassing to watch! You are so talented and you have a great mindset. A pleasure to watch, thanks for sharing<3

Happy New Year, Dominique! Thank you for all of these amazing, thoughtful and in depth book reviews. I hold you 100% responsible for my glaring lack of impulse control that lead me to various new watercolor book purchases after watching your video. 🤦♂🤷♂😉😂Renley, on the other hand, is totally blameless.🥰 😁🤣 I'm especially looking forward to those books in French; they're intrinsically lovely, but they also give me a chance to practice my French. In that vein, are you familiar with French artist Marc Folly? He does not have any instructional books but he sells two books showcasing his watercolors, "Oeuvres sur papier" and "Oeuvres sur papier 2". They are pure eye and mind candy. Jaw dropping stuff, like Nita Engle's work.

Thanks for this video. I like the timber of your voice, easy to listen to. I like your approach, the way you describe your work. I wouldn’t ordinarily listen to such a long video usually 20 minutes or less. But you explain things so well I was drawn to listen to all of it. Again, thank you for your work.

I came to the exact same conclusion and solution for the yellows. There's a lot that I prefer in DS over W&N but the yellows are a different story. I prefer yellows that have more depth and subtlety, as well as transparency... but some of those warm yellows to oranges are far superior in DS. I have a particular weakness for Aussie Red Gold. I'm still trying to make some choices and this video is incredibly helpful, thank you. I am new to the channel, so forgive me if this is covered ground, but I believe you might also enjoy Da Vinci and Roman Szmal paints, as well as certain QoR colors. Appreciate that view of the mountains each video, it's so inspiring. 😊 PS- Your work is astoundingly good for any level of experience. Beautiful.

Nina is adorable! They both r! I have 4 I lost 1 just recently and I was devastated. She was so tiny I carried her around in my top lol. They have such wonderful big personalities. What they lack in size they make up for in attitude lol love the painting of them. Now I want to paint my wee JJ.

Keep your channel IRL, these are my favorites that I tune into regularly. I can’t stand pretend and some of the craziness that other YT put on. I have done the same thing you have, I ordered at least three different types of watercolor blocks and sketch journals. Looking for my favorite, I don’t know what to really look for, this is just my first year “making marks” on art paper 😝 I’m more of an abstract artist.

Would you be so kind and list the names of the artists in Domestika that you’ve taken classes from? Either they are amazing instructors or you are naturally gifted as an artist, or maybe it’s both. 😀. Anyway, I would be interested in taking those classes. I think your work is truly beautiful!! Thank you for sharing your sketchbooks with us.

Thank you for a lovely and a very educational video! Loved it! Is there a video somewhere where you show us your palette? I would love to see it and I am sure so would a lot of others! If there is not a video of that yet, could you make one????

Amazing technical review of so many colors! I have added quite a few paint colors to my wish list. Perhaps I’ll be painting jellyfish! How do you get ideas of what figure to paint. I just love all the variety!

The way you describe the feel and application of each color is AMAZING, you’re so knowledgeable that paint makers should listen to your opinions, I sooo enjoyed watching this video and definitely will use for inspiration all your illustrations you pick for each color group, please continue with your beautiful work and more videos !!! 🙏🏻❤️👍🏻

I can relate to not wanting to paint in a book. I have a Jane Davenport book like that. It's a colouring and painting book. I just can't do it because I'm afraid I'll wreck it 😂.

Such a lovely sketchbook tour, and helpful! 😊 I think it's such a shame that some really beautiful colours aren't lightfast, like the Rhodonite (turns grey), Moonglow (loses the red) and the Aussie Red Gold (dulls down significantly). I was also surprised by the Naphthamide Maroon on your dot card, because it's usually very deep, intense and beautiful (and lightfast!). I hope you get to try that one in a different format sometime! (Oh, and jellyfish!)
