My sister for years did the family holiday meals. I have only really started enjoying cooking in the last couple of years. So while she did the holidays, I just followed her direction and instructions. I was her sous chef and we made a great team... I chopped a lot of vegetables too, Andrew. And I loved it. My sister's the best and so appreciated, I'll chop vegetables for her anytime!

My 16 year old is on the spectrum ( asd) and has some sensory issues with food-he doesn’t like things smooth or creamy, he has to add texture to be able to eat it. So a small short story later he loves granola and stuff like the coconut chips that add texture and now most of us do it because it’s sooo good!

Banana moon pies are my favorite! In the south we eat RC cola and moon pies together (when I was a kid - I don’t even know if RC Cola still exists)! But I still like banana moon pies when I can find them in the Northeast! Tractor Supply and Cracker Barrel have them sometimes- otherwise I have to order them. We always have them on Pi day!!!!

Don't forget to put sunscreen on your ears! My grandfather ended up with melanoma and it showed up on his ears. I always make sure to extend my sunscreen to my ears and the the nooks and crannies behind the ear too. I have a separate sunscreen I use for my body and I make sure to cover my neck and any of my chest and back that are peeking out of my shirt too.

Pro Tip: When chopping onions, wet your blade. Eye pain when chopping onions is due to a chemical that onions release (called something sciencey lol) reacting with the liquid in your eyes. If you periodically wet your blade, that reaction will happen more on your blade and less in your eyes!!!

I keep mine in the produce drawer. Same concept, I think - cold onions equal fewer tears! None in my case unless the onion is very, very fresh. Like, probably picked the past week fresh. Otherwise, I can't remember the last time I cried chopping onions.
