James, I can't even tell you how enlightening this is. Whenever I make a video (not on the channel I'm commenting from), I usually start with an objective and the story usually irons itself out, but as someone who travels almost constantly, I have always struggled with "travel videos." The way you break it down makes it sound so obvious, hopefully I can put it into practice This is the first video I've watched on your channel, so maybe it will become more obvious later, but what is the number in your description?

Glad to hear it was helpful! The number in the description is just a context reminder for me. It's how many subscribers I had at the time the video was posted. It's like a little history marker for my own reference. 🙂

Love this! This gives me a great way to set up my Off Road videos. I can always start with a goal for the day that I want to achieve, and the obstacles will have more meaning. ie. I want to get to this location to have lunch over a fire. then build the story on the way. .... Thanks!

Definitely good advice. The only travel I’ve done since C19 has been to the local dog park! Can’t wait to do “real travel” again and try out this idea.

Great advice about including the challenge to get anywhere. My escapes from a Corona hotspot always lead me to Switzerland. I basically know much of the Swiss Alps quite well. However being pushed to the mild Ticino area made me discover awesome lonely southerly valleys!

@thend u mention "just" -- the origin of the word is rooted in g o v t thus it's a f a l s e word -- as u said the pt of it all is 2 have structure nothing is ever "just"; besides that this is the BEST video i have ever seen/heard on video/filmaking/creating -- u rockas 4 overshooting that's y i set my cam 2 cut me off after 30s
