Tekken (Japanese: 鉄拳, meaning "Iron Fist") is a 1994 Japanese media franchise centered on a series of fighting games developed and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment (formerly Namco). The franchise also includes film and print adaptations.
The main games in the series follow the events of the King of Iron Fist Tournament, hosted by the Mishima Zaibatsu, where players control a plethora of characters to win the tournament and gain control of the company; the conflict between the Mishima family serves as the main focus of the series' plot, while players explore other characters' motivations in aiming to control the Zaibatsu.
Gameplay focuses on hand-to-hand combat with an opponent, with the gameplay system including blocks, throws, escapes, and ground fighting. The series later introduced combos and special moves, with characters also able to stage break arenas. Tekken is noted as being one of the first fighting games at the time to use 3D animation.

I think Jin kept avoiding Xiaoyu because he doesn't want to repeat his parents mistake, which is him (besides he wanted to act like an arsehole cool guy). Now he is supposedly free from the curse, he has options now, and she might have a chance.

Jin avoided her to protect her, he knew the influence of not being able to control his DG, his journey was accepting himself, his blood & his DG. Jin had always deeply cared/love Xiaoyu. Him promising to come back to her, held her hand with both his hands, and was the last thought everytime thinking of a desire, free from the DG now, and will spend his life happy with Xiaoyu and his comrades now.

It’s funny to me that I shipped these two right away during Tekken 3 release - only based on the fact that they both had school uniform alternate costumes. And with that, I also decided the young successor characters of Tekken 3 were fellow high school students. So in my canon, it was decided Julia, Hwoarang and Forest Law attended Mishima Polytechnical school too, and were in a love triangle.

Its nice because the game always hinted they were close before the ending of T3, and that in Xiaoyu's T4 intro Jin at least reached out to warn her, doubling down on the idea they were friends. In T8, Jin sayibg its been a while since they used to spar, and her moves have improved at least show that they did at some point hang out. And his smile at her was adorable, he certainly showed that they had some measure of closeness.

This is about as canon as we might get. At the end, Jin returning to her alone feels symbolic to "going home is returning to her." The ending feels like it's Jin's new beginning of living life and being with those important to him (which the story pushed) and her being the only person feels like they mean to say this is the start of reciprocated feelings.

I always felt like Asuka would have been a better choice due to her headstrong personality which complements Jin more.
