Fun fact: Inside Tekken 8's files, there's an unused character name texture which spells "True Devil Jin". It was either supposed to be used at the fight where he has black & white wings or it was an alternate name for "Angel Jin" since said form doesn't come from an Angel gene but rather a combination of his Kazama and devil powers. Edit: Could also be meant for the last fight in Chapter 12 where you control Devil Jin.

The reason why devil jin attack hwoarang is because hwoarang anttitude who love provoke and fighting with jin, this is make devil jin think hwoarang trying do something evil with jin. But in tekken 7 devil jin realize that hwoarang actually just jin closest friend and rival...make him finally no longer hostile towards him, maybe devil jin also feel bad because hurting jin friends back then, so this is why he let jin use full control his power in ending t7 and opening T8

Theory; because Jin used the power of angel against Kazuya in T8, I don't think his Devil power died. I think it is currently sleeping and it needs to be triggered to awaken itself up like Heihachi or Devil Reina.

T7 the interaction where hwo wins isnt canon, they just wanted a scenario to explain the eye patch. In t8 hes completely fine lol. They fight but naturally, devil jin wins, he just passes out on his own because his body is exhausted from being possessed by the devil, the cutscene is literally in the story mode, lars collects jin.

An interesting take on the Devil Gene for Jin Kazama. I was thinking it's almost the same as Evil Ryu. But Evil Ryu is a "What-If" character, after all. What if Ryu did not follow the path of true Warrior and succumb to his Murderous Intent (Satsui no Hadou), the result is Evil Ryu himself (Satsui no Hadou Mezameta Ryu). The closest event of Ryu's alternate evil being canon is Kage (Kagenaru Mono). In Jin Kazama's story, it is different. It's not a "What-If" as ever since Tekken 3, Jin's 1st apperance, Devil Jin has been with him since. This acceptance of Devil Jin is what made the story so impactful. Throughout Tekken 4 to Tekken 7, Jin has been trying to get rid of his Devil Gene as it is a curse to him. Accepting and letting him take control shows that it can be used properly. I just wonder how or where Bandai Namco will go from here. Because, gameplay wise, there are still people using Devil Jin (T3 Jin moveset) and people using regular Jin (T4 moveset). Maybe 2 playable Jins in the next game. Jin (Kazama style) and Jin (Mishima style) perhaps?

For me, after Jin defeats Kazuya and when he is walking to grab that flower and talk about his mother, you can still see the Devil mark on his left arm. At that moment, he is talking to himself in the third person. I believe he is now talking to the Devil in another form, because Devil Jin referred to himself as ‘I am one of the strengths within you…’ (14:21). This is probably a result of the Devil power combined with Kazama power. The ‘Devil Jin’ can be the alter ego of Jin.

Tbh, the tattoo is more of a Kazama thing. Tag games are non-canon but we can use them to induce that the tattoo appears whenever an "impurity" enters a person with the Kazama blood: - Devil gene for Jin - Wolf spirit for Unknown/Jun
