Great tutorial, thank you. I've done this on my Mora Companion Heavy Duty sheath. I tried to put on as much paracord as I can and ended up wrapping 13 feet (3.9 meters) of paracord.

Just did this to my military green HD Companion with hemp wick. I use 20lb. test (usually braided to 60lb test, not this time though) hemp wick for all my small cordage. The tan color happens to go well with my MG XP in all seriousness though, I fit at least 20 feet of wick on it with room to spare! If i get caught in the rain and I can get the wick lit, i have about a 90% success rate of being able to get a fire going every single time. Not to mention the beeswax in the hemp acts as a barrier for moisture :) The wax makes the wick stick to the sheath to an extent, and even gives a nice reassuring grip for holding the sheath. The damn thing looks like it came from sweden that way!!! Definitely gonna only get MG companions now, and I'm wrapping every sheathe I can this way! so cool man. Edit, unwrapped it and decided to rewrap from the top of the sheath going down. This way I can use the remaining cordage coming off the end of the sheath as a leg strap; If I'm gonna be in the bush for more then a day or two. I also won't have to unwrap my sheath to get a fire going with the extra on the end,

Thumbs UP on this vid!!!! This is reminiscent of the wrapping they put on Japanese Katanas (maybe not the exact weave pattern). But very attractive and functional!

Very cool. Just used the same technique to wrap a leather sheath with 25' of bank line. Works great. I need to figure out a better stop knot to finish the wrap. The little spring keepers don't work as well with bank line - its too thin. I did it two different ways. First, taking the ends in opposite directions and tying a square knot. Second, took the ends back through the last loop and tied them off with a couple of hitches. I'll have to see which holds better. Thanks for the vid!

i really like how it looks, but i wanna know one thing that i havent understood yet (and this is not critique,) im just curious about WHY should i wrap my sheath with paracord? is the purpose to easy get a 3m paracord with me out in the woods, or is it to improve the looks or improve the grip around the sheath? :) im wanting to find out :)

I just wrapped my sheath but unfortunately it slid off after a very hard tug. Is that normal? I imagine in real world use it wouldnt come off.
@BrotherBeard7510 жыл бұрын
Depends what you mean by a tug of course. It is not knotted, so if you want to deduct it will come off after a hard tug. If you tighten well in the beginning it will notcome loose. Have not had that problem

Hey Awesome job will this stay tight and wrap fine if I go higher up the Sheath instead of stopping where you do on the sheaths ? or should I just stop where u do ?
