I am so happy the videos are coming back. And I must say you and anchor girl have that boat looking better then it probably did new. She is a beauty. Thank you again for doing what you do. We really enjoy the travels you two share.

Thanks for that, Billy. We were fortunate to have found this one - and the detailing crew that did the polishing in Sandusky when we bought her did a fantastic job. There's still a few things I'm gonna do in the Spring, including the stripes, and replacing that NAV light with something a little smarter looking. But the thing I'm most looking forward to doing is the super detail cleaning of the entire bilge area. I've been poking away with that, but still want to completely remove all the batteries to clean that area, as well as remove the rub rails to re-caulk the hull to deck joint so I can clean up the water streaks in the bilge. So looking forward to those projects!! 😁

Yes, she was performing great through the entire voyage! That is, apart from the snapped shift cable, but that's a subject for a future video 😉 I hope you have a chance to watch the next video, as we'll head onto to brand new waters as we cruise over to Kingston for our very first cruise that way. The boat ran perfectly and exceeded my expectations on every level!!

Bingo. With all the supply chain issues this past year, finding Corona was a challenge, so I was happy to take advantage of the courtesy car to stock up before moving on. I actually had to drive to the next town to find some of the golden nectar 😁🍺

Wow! I am so inspired to get my 340 Sundancer out and across these great waters this summer. I am looking so forward to retiring so I can do some longer trips. I was amazed at how smooth the water was at the beginning of the video. Thanks for sharing! Happy New Year to you and Anchor Girl......and the kitty cat!

By the way, your gelcoat looks amazing. Looks like it just rolled off the Sea Ray assembly line! We just had our 2001 310 Sundancer detailed with Permanon Yacht Supershine ceramic coating. Looking forward to seeing how it holds up in the FL sun. It's a water based ceramic coating that's statically bonded to the gelcoat. No solvent or chemical bonding involved so it won't alter the gelcoat. It's apparently used by quite a few super yacht detailers in the Ft. Lauderdale area. I'll let you know how it holds up - supposed to be good for 18-24 months of sun exposure. It can be reapplied and touched with a spray bottle and a microfiber cloth. No more compounding and buffing with a polisher!

We had the boat professional detailed while it was still in indoor storage in Sandusky, before bringing her home. I must say how impressed I am with how well it stood up over the summer. The boys used a polymer sealant and that's what I'm going to use again this Spring. We had Anchor Girl's car done with a ceramic coating when we bought it new, but it was pretty much a waste of money. Despite the hype, I can see no difference in what it would have performed like if I hadn't wasted the $700 😩 That said, keep us posted on how yours works for you. Having spent lots of time in beautiful Fort Lauderdale over the years, I know how brutal the sun can be on everything - including the many lovely yachts
@Motorvader
@Motorvader Жыл бұрын
@@BoatingWithBoogaboo Will do. From what I've read in magazine articles and forum posts Permanon was one of the first ceramic coatings to come on the market and its relatively inexpensive compared to new ceramic coating technologies and their exaggerated marketing claims. A 1 liter bottle will do my whole boat and it costs $162.99. If it lasts at least 12 months with my boat in the hot FL sun and I need to reapply each year I'm OK with that. The ease of reapplication and reduced maintenance will be well worth it. Time will tell.

Yes, it was a welcome stay at Trent Port Marina, taking advantage of shorepower during the hottest days of this trip. I'm sure you've already watched it, but just in case you missed it, here's the standalone video focusing on Trent Port Marina that I produced in 2019; kzbin.info/www/bejne/emO5hpuAi86co5Y Spoiler alert, something I discuss in the next video, we ended up staying there for five nights in a row! It was simply too hot to be without air conditioning for that many days, especially for Little Tiny 😉 Next video takes us over to Kingston, which was the highlight of our five weeks out. Not because of the sea of sailboats we encountered, but the sense of adventure going through brand new waters for us. Very inspiring for this old guy!!

The Trent Port was our home port. We actually spoke with you on the radio as you were leaving and heading back home. Feel free to check out our channel Cruising Jackson Rose. We spent 2 years cruising the Bay of Quinte and checking out the many anchorages in the area. There are a few secluded anchorages that you could run your generator for AC or charging batteries.

That sure is one nice marina. I don't blame you for staying an extra 2 days. I highly doubt you would have enjoyed Picton without power. You just missed the ice cream! Question, what is the bubbling water in the middle of the channel from? You can see it repeatedlly in the video. Just wondering...cheers!
@BoatingWithBoogaboo
@BoatingWithBoogaboo Жыл бұрын
As I replied to another query regarding that bubble thing, that was an aerator to help keep the weeds down. They also have a weed cutting machine on site, same as we have at our marina, so I am guessing it is an ongoing issue for them. As for our total stay here, you'll have to watch tomorrow's video to learn the total day count for this stay. And please don't judge us, it was exceedingly hot ;-) Beyond that, tomorrow's video covers what ended up being the neded up being the most memorable and rewarding part of our 5-1/2 weeks out!

@@BoatingWithBoogaboo sorry I missed that query in the comments. I even went through them prior to posting my comment, but must've missed it. I never judge! I think that the point of any boating trip is to do what you want. Stay or go....the beauty of having a moving vessel!

Looks like a bubbler running in the fairway between the finger piers. Do they keep them in year round?
@BoatingWithBoogaboo
@BoatingWithBoogaboo Жыл бұрын
Although we've only visited here in the summer, I would guess that the bubblers are left in the water all year. They only have to turn them off, but shouldn't be affected by wInTeR, even if the lake freezes there.

Yes we do - and love it! After boating ourselves for (at the time) over 20 years, and having cats for our (at the time) nearly 40 years of marriage, we finally decided to try bringing my Tiny Little Krona with us in 2020 after his buddy passed away suddenly. Tiny was only six months old, but he took to the boating life right away. If you check out pretty much all of my videos since then he will show up, as he is a permanent fixture, traveling with us on all of our cruises and is quite happy being on the boat. And we wouldn't have it any other way :-) Here's a video I captured shortly after he joined us: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i3LRn2SZqpqhbdU. Still kinda new to the sounds and such, but he learned quickly. These days, he generally sleeps within arms length of me when underway - even when cruising along at speed across the open water. We love to have his loving companionship!!

@@BoatingWithBoogaboo he is adorable, where do you keep the litterbox? When I was married I had four dogs, two large and two small, we brought the two small dogs on all of our trips, that's when I owned the 330. I've had two cats since, just adopted one few weeks ago. Considering taking her on the boat.

His poop box is on the floor in the aft cabin. It fits nicely out of the way and doesn't cause us any issues. It's cleaned out 1-2 times every day, so there's never any smell on the boat. As I mentioned, we've had Kitty Kats for the past 40 years and have never had an issue with smell. As with anything else, cleanliness is the key 👌

Just an aerator to keep the water moving and hopefully, the weeds down. Don't worry, it's deep enough for boats to safely pass over.
