In the nicest way possible, I always laugh at how much it seems like Colleen doesn't know about pregnancy. Like queen its your second long term pregnancy AND ITS TWINS. Many women already start showing way earlier in their pregnancies after their first AND ITS TWINS! You look stunning and are showing perfectly normally! Its a quick, big change but you look incredible! Rock that bump momma!

Unfortunately, with bunnies they have a high juvenile mortality rate even with their mom so don't feel bad about it. You did everything you could've done and you would of felt even worse if you had kept them because more likely or not, they would've passed. So glad you changed the title though, most certainly gave me a heart attack.

It is so easy for bunnies to die even if they are with their momma's. Bunnies are very very delicate especially as newborns. The specialist was correct it is extremely hard for them to survive without their moms. It was nothing you or anyone else did.

Yes, in the past my family used to have a lot of rabbits. We would see baby bunnies come and go a lot because they are so hard to take care of even with their mom. She did the right thing and shouldn't be that hung over it.

We have a lot of wild rabbits around where we live. Even with the best of care, they're just very delicate creatures that don't do well with stress. I'm amazed they survived the dog park. You did everything you could for them. Glad you and all your family are doing well. Get yourself a headband and/or some clips to get the bangs out of the way as they grow out. :) Happy 4th of July!

You did the right thing about the bunnies. They would have died a suffering death alone in the park with dogs and they would have died scared. Because they were being taken care of, they may have died but they just drifted away naturally instead of going by some bad or violent way.

I'm so sorry that they ghosted you. I actually work in a Wildlife Hospital, and have a degree in Animal Rehab. And if they ghosted you then they wouldn't had been a good place to take them. And Colleen, Bunnies are VERY high stress animals, so there is a number of things that could had happened. About half of them make it at our hospital. You should have taken them to a rehab center, you did the VERY RIGHT THING!! Please don't doubt that you did the wrong thing, or anything wrong. I absolutely love that you did that. I can tell you that they tried their very best to save those baby bunnies. They could had come in with a bacteria that is named Pasteurella that is carried in cats and can be given to very small mammals. If caught early it can cured. Also they are right, Bunnies don't do very well with out their mothers. Most rehab places are not state funded so everything is based on donations, which means that they might not have stuff that other rehabbers do, so I can tell you that when us rehabbers call and tell you we really tried everything we could. I would love to send you some photos of the baby bunnies that I have fed and rehabbed and released if you would want!!

However, Colleen very obviously chose to title the video “Really Sad News” because she knew that most of us would automatically assume that something was wrong with her twins and we would immediately click to watch the video. She used clickbait. It did work, this vlog has more views compared to other recent vlogs. I used to take care of wild baby bunnies at a wildlife rescue I worked at. Baby bunnies truly are so hard to keep alive. You are right in saying they most likely got used to you and how you cared for them. Bunnies usually do best with one person taking care of them. Most likely they aspirated while someone was feeling them and that led them to getting sick. You did everything right and you saved them from dying alone, starving, and cold. Remind yourself of that when your sad ❤️

When I was pregnant with my twins, we moved into a new home that had a birds nest with three baby birds, a few weeks into the new home, a neighborhood tom cat got into the nest and killed all but one. We saw the mom was still around and we tried (with gloves and as little touching as possible) to place them back but it didn't work, I called my mom SOBBING that they died. I was so excited to watch them grow.

Bunnies are so so fragile, and even for an experienced rehabber, it’s hard to get them to survive. Especially after trauma. You did the right thing ❤️ they passed knowing love.

The bunnies may have been ill or had birth defects which caused the mother to abandon them. Many species of animals will do this. Some will even kill their baby who is sick because it’s just instinct for them.

Oh Colleen, there was an adorable family of bunnies that would always come and go in and out of our backyard. Sadly, I witnessed the momma bunny getting run over by a large truck. 🥺 My heart was shattered when I saw the baby bunnies rush over to their mom, hoping she would wake up, but didn’t. 😔 I understand your pain, Colleen. @@aquamarineblue8690 Your statement is completely false and uneducated. Imma name some reasons. 1. There was a baby deer that our friends found and it looked lonely and scared. At this point you may be thinking, "the mom just left it there". Well she did, but the fawn was abandoned for hours and they found a deer in the ditch, so the concluded that the mother deer passed away. They then raised it and bottle fed it, and became a happy healthy deer that they didn't keep in captivity, just helped it grow up. 2. People rescue animals that are hurt or neglected from the wild to help them. There is SPCA and other organizations that rescue and help animals recover. 3. People hunt animals too, and they take it out of the habitat. P.S. Before saying, try taking a long thought and think more about a statement before you say it. edit: the family that rescued the small fawn have experience in raising animals and had a hobby farm including goats. It was similar raising the deer to as a goat was.

Colleen!! 💜 My grandmother is a certified wildlife rehabber under the state of Texas. I've grown up with her rehabbing all kinds of animals, including bunnies. You absolutely did everything right!! The fact that you were able to keep them alive for so long is incredible 💜 my grandma has YEARS of experience and to this day struggles keeping baby bunnies alive because that is just how bunnies are. as a bunny mum I think you did the right thing.. bunnies are really sensitive to the heat especially when they are babies. you most likely gave them a longer life because of taking them in so thank you

This is gunna sound kinda harsh but wild rabbits genetically are built for quantity not quality. Dosnt mean they can’t be healthy and thrive. But it’s really common for baby bunnies to not make it to adulthood, especially separated from their mother. You did the right thing and gave them the best possible chance!

I’m not here to get into an argument of if the natural thing to do would be to let them die. But she didn’t take them from their mother, or a nest. And she cared for them for days and tried to find adequate rehabilitation for them, and the plan was to re release them in the area they were found. She didn’t do anything wrong. If you disagree that’s fine but we do live in an un ideal world where human activity throws off the balance of nature, if we can in the process responsibly help it out when given the opportunity I don’t see the issue

We have lots of bunnies and they frequent have babies and what they said to you on the phone was absolutely correct! It is a miracle they survived as long as they did in humans care, even with the mother around its not uncommon they won't survive. Bunnies are ruthless and it's common for the mothers to abandon, eat or neglect one or more of their babies (especially if it's thier first litter) so you did the absolute best thing for them, don't feel any guilt about anything that happened this is just the life of bunnies!

I'm so sorry about the baby bunnies. I have domesticated rabbits as pets and have learned a lot about wild ones in the process. You absolutely did the right thing and did nothing wrong. Baby bunnies rarely survive without their mother, it's so sad but it's true. You gave them a few extra days and a fighting chance at life by picking them up and finding wildlife experts to look after them. They are such fragile creatures. From a rabbit lover, thank you from the bottom of my heart for trying your best to help those babies. The world needs more caring people like you.

Sometimes we can't save them :( I had a kitty I adopted because no one else would, bc she was very sick. We did everything we could, and she died 2 months later. It shattered me. But what comforts me, is that she had comfort, and love, and everything to be happy, and didn't die abandoned without a home ♡

I live in Texas. It’s extremely common for us to find baby bunnies every spring. Sometimes it’s from wild animals dragging them out or lawn mowers going over their nest. Either way, I’ve only ever seen ONE survive being away from its mom. You’re right, y’all did everything you could and it’s sad but they were loved in those 4 days they had.

I had the exact same experience with bunnies a few years ago. A coworker of mine watched as an bird swept down and took their mom so we took them home, did all the research on how to care for them and they were doing GREAT! And then one day they died. We were not expecting it because they seemed to healthy but yeah I read that there was really only a 1% chance of them surviving without their mom :(
