irwin makes tapes printednon both sides. still, hard to measure curves. and i frequently fight to get an accurate read on small tubes

Is there any tape measure which has a mechanism to slow it down while retracting? Because that can cause injury, especially for people who aren't pro

Some have a quick-brake that you can use to ease the tape in instead of letting it wildly slam back in.

Hultafors have some models that do that, check out the PR and BT tape measures... they also both have locks that won't retract the tape a bit, which some tape measures unfortunately do.

You can measure around the paint can with a double sided tape.

This is good only for pencel sharping.Talmeter from hultafors is the best.

It definitely has the best scribing and interior-measurement functions of any tape, but it's still not quite "perfect". For one, make the case more comfortable to hold like most other tapes nowadays, add the pencil sharpener and pad that these Fastcap tapes have, make a version of that that also has a really wide blade like a Stanley Fatmax, and then finally have a variation of the tape that numbers the markings in tens of millimeters instead of centimeters. Only then will I have my dream tape.
