Wow, Dave! You really hit it out of the park with both the bike trailer and cot tent. Just having a nice strip of landscape on either side of the bug netting makes that setup an A+, and the trailer to tote it all, too? Outstanding! Thanks for letting us all ride along with you on this Doggies on the Mount Adventure. Rock on, bro!

We went to bed right after dinner. Chris was up at 5AM making breakfast and prepping for a new gas stove in the kitchen. Then he Knocked out our ‘to do list’ - and himself, so we can have 3 days for ourselves. People need to be selfish in these uncertain times. I saw you had posted, made coffee and woke him up. It’s fun to see you using stuff we’ve passed on. Chris told me a funny story. His old apt moved in a guy with a aggressive dog That barked all day while the guy was at work.Manager wouldn’t fo anything because of low occupancy. THE MUSIC AND LANGUAGE OF WOLVES narrated by Robert Redford LP. He played it with the speakers against the common wall heater duct for eight hours straight. Dog never so much as growled at folks, kept looking around nervously.
@AclockworkPurple2 ай бұрын
I work in the canine behavior field. How do you know those dogs were “aggressive”exactly? True “aggression” is VERY rare in domesticated dogs. Generally people confuse reactivity with “aggression”. Also, the domesticated dog isn’t going to be bothered by the sound of wolves, it doesn’t work like that. I doubt anything that was done as you described had the effect you claim it did on the dogs. AGAIN, it doesn’t work like that.

When a dog, as this one eventually did, leaps out the apartment door and bites a 8 year old girl ? The police and animal control had probable cause it was ‘aggressive.’ My degree is archaeology UC Berkeley and U if Chicago. You msy want to read s dissertation comparing pack wolf behavior with early human bands. While serving inAlaska, the cheecacko wolves. AKA coyotes migrating up learned to stfu when wolves vocalised their territorial dominance. Lastly, my first dog was gifted by my grandfather’s neighbor and fellow WW1 vet, mr Lee Duncan. He taught me about dogs. Oh, he brought RinnTinn Tinn back from France. Chris

Great video Dave! An important one as well. It shows TRUE survival scenarios. Bugs, weather and dogs. There's far too many keyboard commandos that think survival is glorious. IT'S NOT! Mother Nature is cruel and unforgiving. She'll expose all of one's weaknesses and leave the toughest of men crying for their mommies. In a true bug-out scenario, imagine the dogs in packs and they're out hunting for food. There's no break from the bugs and weather. If you don't have proper gear, like what you have, it'll be a short trip. ;) You have a great setup there. You should be proud of all of your achievements. I hope you have many, many more years of enjoyment. Too bad Nick can't join you. There's always going to be a job, but family time is important. Thanks for the awesome video! :)

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it and very well said! Not all trips go smoothly. Sometimes you just gotta go with the flow. Hopefully on day Nick will start working day shift. Take care and thanks for watching brother

Great video Dave and really nice to see a camping one! I don't like hot weather and bugs at all so i rarely go in the woods during summer, muchless camp or overnight. You are a brave man to endure the elements to share with us. I am hoping to do a lot of hikes and maybe a couple of camping overnights this fall and winter. Still warm here in Minnesota but hoping it cools off soon. Anywho, looks like you had a nice morning breakfast and coffee. Nice camp setup! That little table is really cool and would be nice for a hammock set up also Thanks again for sharing!

Thanks Marty and I'm glad you liked it! Oh I despise hot weather and bugs. We had a cool few days when I was off so I hit the woods! Take care and thanks for watching brother

Love that little table you put legs on. I would love to have the skill to weld aluminum. I would be doing side projects all the time.

Thanks for the video, Dave. The dogs were a surprise for sure. Looks like the bike, trailer, and camp setup looked very good. Might want to throw in some citronella candles to help with the bugs ( if they would work for ya, I've got mixed thoughts on them !). The only thing that would've made breakfast better would've been some hot fresh biscuits. A little harder to do out in the woods. Can be done with campfire and convection oven. But, buddy, eggs and sausage cooked outdoors can't get much better ! Good luck on your upcoming shift work. And I pray y'all will miss the bad weather of the hurricane. God bless y'all and keep y'all safe through the upcoming storms.

You are very welcome Brian and I'm glad you liked it. Citronella candles probably would have worked but I wasn't expecting so many bugs. The breakfast was delicious! Oh, the hurricane brought lots of rain but very little damage. Thanks for watching and may God bless you too
