Hello Matt! What a wonderful cabin project! You're doing what I never did, and I admire it! I enjoy the process and dedication you have toward your cabin goal. I also find it hilarious that often there are edited inserts of insects, birds, and animals in your videos. It reminds me greatly of the 1970s television show, The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams. However their inserts were stock footage. I don't think you're using stock footage at all! Oh, to be young and healthy again like you. Keep up the good work, and I'm enjoying the process immensely!

Hi Matt I just read your intro and I have to say "I'm hooked". I look forward to watching it all come together. I know you're in for a lot of work because, well, I've been there. My home is a bit different in that it's a Timber Frame but I share your ideology. I may have embraced power tools a bit more than you but chisel and mallet ruled. Hey there buddy. What if you've accomplished on your cabin builders remarkable. I actually like how you saddle cut the logs saw the saddle knots sits down nice and tight. And I do like the old way of you insulate in the saddle cut for the length of the log with the Moss. Should be very proud of yourself man you've done a great job so far on this build. And to do it all by hand by yourself got to be an awesome feeling

Not for lack of trying but you may wish you had put some rebar in your footings. If you ever decide to build another cabin I would recommend surface burning the first couple rows of logs, it helps prevent insects from making your logs their home.
