Hey Kaitlyn, I have some of your new friends growing in my garden. Some days ago, I drilled a hole in an old wok-like frying pan and did an arrangement with the succulent-propagations laying around. Cut them in pieces, and you get more, and more, and… btw. I liked the names you gave them, very fitting. I am sure you already know it, but these all demand the brutal, hard rayed, direct sunlight. Otherwise they will grow longated and floppy. Even good growlights aren’t enough. And about the aoneums. When they grow bigger, they become quite sculpturous. Actually, when you grow them outside, they can get three to four foot high or even more, with rosettes of one foot in diameter. So they are looking better as solitaires. And I found out by mistake (left them outside on a night with temps lower than 50), that they branch out like crazy, if they loose all leaves (and survive).

I love this!! The grab bag is so fun!! I have several succulent arrangements and I just adore them; it is so fun to watch them grow over time. You do have to ‘edit’ them from time to time, because they all grow at different rates, sometimes somebody gets too big for the pot or one just doesn’t thrive where the rest of them do. But I really enjoy having a bunch of species clustered in one pot. It’s really aesthetically pleasing and fun to have that variety! If you leave a little more room and have a watering can with a long, thin spout, you can kinda target water so you can give each individual plant what they need and avoid overwatering the others.

That pot is so cute but just be careful cause Aloes have VERY robust root systems (even small ones) and shoot out pups from runners and their stems so don't let it choke out the other cuttings. Also I LOVE Euphorbia, and specifically that Grandicornis can tint yellow in the sun but its no health worry and they do enjoy a far bit of light. Also I don't know if you knew but Euphorbia are succulents so don't skimp on the water as much as you would a cactus! Sorry for the little ramble but if you need any specific plant care tips Partlysunnyprojects is very knowledgeable and I'm pretty sure they have a book!

I've recently gotten into outdoor gardening and I knew nothing about plants. I didn't even know what hydrangeas were until I started going to garden centers and looking at the tags. The point I'm trying to make is that Google helped me identify a lot of the plants I saw in gardens that weren't labeled. You just take a picture of the plant and it will search it for you. Some times it's not accurate but it does narrow the search. Hope you give it a try!

Beautiful arrangements. I love succulents and I have made many arrangements. I have found that the more succulents you plant/cram together, the slower they grow and the arrangement will last longer. Good luck and I look forward to watching their progression. 🌵🪴🌿

I believe you really are a succulent lover, because I first came to your channel following my love (obsession) for Sansevieria and they are definitely succulent plants. This year though, I have had major Euphorbia fever. I also have been experimenting with cacti and more succulents myself, also doing some mixed planters. Debra Lee Baldwin has some great books on the subject (with excellent photos for ID purposes) as well as some good content here on KZbin. For ID, I also like to peruse Mountain Crest Gardens and Planet Desert's websites as they both have a varied and vast inventory. I wonder if maybe I would separate the Aeoniums, though I have no experience in growing them myself yet. I have read they are summer-dormant winter growers and I think they might prefer a different water care schedule than many of the other succulents. As always, I adore your videos and enjoy sharing in your plant parent journey. If my sweet non plant husband ID'd a plant before me, he would definitely get extra sexy bonus points, shout-out to our partners who support our plant passions even if it's not they're number one thing.

Such a perfect video to pop up! I was away for almost three weeks, during which we had a bad heat wave. It was over 100F in my plant/bed room nearly the entire time I was gone. My mom said she'd care for my plants and kept updating me saying they were doing great, all to come back and see my plants in horrible shape. She never turned off my grow lights so it was 117 where my indoor succulents were when I got back. Never had any water. Some of them lived but almost 30 died off. Five of my cacti died too. The only ones that were still thriving were the ones outside, getting water every few days from the rain. I'm sad to have to get my collection back up, but just seeing this thumbnail has already made me much more excited for my collection!

Succulent arrangements are fun to put together, and easy enough to redesign when you get bored with it. I love Aeoniums, I used to keep mine inside but once I put it outside it did a lot better. With putting so many cuttings in one pot it'll stunt their growth a bit so you won't necessarily need to prune it for awhile. That grab bag was a great deal.

The trick to multiple succulents in the same pot is to do it by species. I have a sedum pot (burrito, dasyphyllum and cremnosedum), a Haworthia pot, and a Crassula pot. I started with Aeonium, Sedum and Graptoveria in the same pot and both the Aeonium and Graptoveria rotted from the amount of water the Sedum wanted. Good luck, hope this helps!

From my experience the blue chalk plants grow really fast and kind of take over. I had one in a mixed planter I made from discount plants and it was the only thing that grew. When I repotted it, it had some massive roots. It got to live in a pot by itself.

Love your channel! I've always been a huge plant lover but most of my home is full of teddy bear vines, jade plants, and spider plants because they're all offshoots so I have to propagate them! I've been inspired by you and recently purchased my first ever pepperomia (sp?), string of of pearls and a succulent that looks like a bunch of green beans. Also made my first attempt at saving 3 plants from my local box store..bargained with them and got them each for $2 to see if theyll survive. They were so dry and sad but base stems seemed healthy. Fingers crossed! All that to say, thank you Caitlin! You're an inspiration! Edit: just re-watched this video. That green bean plant I mentioned above was the jade gollum! Thanks for including the names!

Hey i really like the end result but i must say the aloe will rot without roots or will shrivil up.. you need to let go of some bottom leaves and root it with exposed "ariels" that are under the leaves (visually little green spots you will see what i mean)... without a single ariel beeing in contact with a substrat it wont root 🥺. So the best thing i suggest is to let them root in Water and watch till it gets some roots and then pot them :)))
