Jason, consider a 90 day trial... That is what I did and I decided in 60 days, I did not need the last 30 to decided... Carnivore/Ketovore is my new normal! 80 lbs down but more importantly, all of the healing of fatty liver, brain fog, psoriasis, all blood markers EXCELLENT!! Killing it now! I wish I knew this in my 20's! I am 52 and feel 25 ... Oh, also old guy Prostate BPH issues resolving!! Try 90 day strict and faithful! You will have all you need to decide at that point.

I started Carnivore 15 months ago and within the first week my blood sugar readings were that of a non-diabetic. The diabetes nurse halved my Metformin after the first week and within 3 months my a1C was normal. Goodbye diabetes! I was able to come off my Quinapril for high blood pressure, psoriasis is now 80% better, severe anxiety is gone, peripheral neuropathy mostly gone, and I've lost a ton of weight without calorie restriction/starvation. I have a LOT of non-scale victories I could continue adding here but will end this by saying hand on heart, finding Dr. Berrys videos and this WOE has saved my life. Quite literally. If you've tried everything else and nothing else has worked long-term, try keto, ketovore or carnivore ❤

I follow Dr. B. Been on carnivore since Jan 1. Dropped to 233lb from 300. A1C from 7.9 to 6.5. Off blood pressure meds. I don’t crave anything. I am a recovered sugar and carb addict. My skin is clearing up. My skin tags are disappearing. My Doctor looked askance at me when I told him my plans but is flabbergasted at my blood sugars. Diabetes is the number one cause of heart disease (followed by obesity). This way of eating is extending my lifespan and healthspan. Oh and my husband is not a fan, either, but he recognizes the results. Go for it Jason!

Carnivore CURED me of a 16 year gallbladder issue!! I went through an 11 day healing crisis, with 3 full-on gallbladder attacks and 1 ER visit. But after that (and ignoring the nutritional advise) and carefully bumping up the animal fat in my diet of meat and eggs, my gallbladder is totally healed. Now I can eat pork chops, ribeye, low carb BBQ country Pork ribs, small amounts of high fat dairy, prime rib steak burgers, seafood, bacon, butter no problem!! The higher fat animal aspect also helps reduce high cortisol, soothes stress. Also moving more (not chronic cardio), just walking in nature, also helps reduce cortisol and stress. Far more effective than any type anti-depressant. 3 year Carnivore here, with so many other benefits it would take a novel to detail. All 4 of my children ages 14-20 are Carnivore (including my autistic son) and are thriving and love it! Carnivore for life!!!

I too went on Atkins about 20 years ago and had good success. I just couldn't stay away from the carbs at that point. 2 1/2 years ago, I came back to keto for good. I hardly ever get headaches anymore (unless it's that time of the month or I haven't had enough sleep), I don't have gut issues anymore, my depression and anxiety are much less, and I've lost about 50 pounds. I actually have the energy to keep up with my 4 boys. Most of the time I don't even think about carbs anymore. I can walk down the chocolate aisle in the grocery store and not even be tempted. It used to be VERY dangerous for me to go shopping because I'd always buy some 'nice' treat for myself that I'd eat in the car on the way home (or even in the parking lot before I left) and throw out the evidence before the family saw what I had.

Jason - You more than likely have oxalate toxicity so when you went keto you started detoxing the oxalates. You should go on a very low oxalate diet and a keto diet. It wasn’t the keto diet, it was the removal of the high oxalate foods that triggered the detoxification. Make sure to have lemon with water daily and electrolytes plus include cheese, butter, and heavy cream/sour cream, yogurt. The calcium rich foods help the detoxing of the oxalates.
@BriarRoseA3 ай бұрын

I did a keto/adkins diet about 10 years ago. It works! You loose weight quick your body burns fat very fast, you feel better, etc. I was hooked on it for about a year until I saw the research behind it and switched to a plant-based whole-food diet instead. There is a mechanism in our body to turn fat into an energy source when there is an absence of carbohydrates in our bodies. It works great at clarifying your mind and keeping your energy up. But the body prefers to run on carbohydrates. NOT the highly processed pastas, breads and whatnot that is part of the S.A.D.(Standard American Diet) but real carbs and fiber are found in whole plant-based foods. When you run out of glucose, the body turns fats into ketones which it uses as a fuel source for when food is in short supply. You produce ketones only when you don't take in enough glucose. This can happen when you eat little or no carbohydrates when you are fasting, or if you have diabetes which is characterized by insulin resistance which is what allows the body to absorb sugars. According to many studies, the reason you are unable to absorb insulin if you have type 2 diabetes is because of an excess of fat in the body. You basically inhibit the ability of your body to absorb insulin by 'guming up' the inner mechanism with dietary fats. You might be able to lose body fat on a keto diet, but you will never fix the underlying problem if your body's ability to absorb insulin properly on this diet which means you are almost stuck eating this way else you get really sick. That might be well and good for most people but there are studies showing that a keto diet is not healthy long term as it does rob you of proper nutrition since it was never meant to be the default way our bodies work, there will likely be problems. Most of what people tout as benefits of a keo/carnivore diet are anecdotes. I agree that this should be studied more extensively to get to the bottom of what the science says, but I would never recommend this as the best diet for anybody. It's a way for the human body to function if you are unable to consume carbohydrates. It has many immediate benefits but it is not a long-term solution by any means.

Changing my diet saved me from debilitating back pain, nerve pain, joint pain, muscle pain, digestive issues, raised blood pressure, 20kg over weight. It took around 8 months for all these problems to resolve. I'm completely pain free and never felt and looked healthier. Since 2020 I've only been eating fatty meats, seafood, eggs and dairy. Prior to that I was eating the mainstream version of a healthy diet (lots of veggies, fruit, whole grains, low fat, eating the rainbow etc) for decades and watching my health slowly decline. Dr Anthony Chaffee, Dr Paul Mason, Dr Ken Berry, Dr Shawn Baker, Dr Gary Fettke, Dr Benjamin Bikman, Dr. Malcolm Kendrick, all helped me get my health back.

Jason... thank for the meat episode. As a rempant Henna-ed Topanga- n I was a weak sick vegan.. then the doc said.. no more white stuff for you ! Started on beef and feel great after 50 is years. But what I really want to tell you is i had an accident and was laid up for a few months .. in bed- AT a 10 % slant only for my head... anyway I went into a rigid down fall. in my head space. . Pretty much alone, by choice. Stumbled on Sienfeld, on the lap top (which I knew pretty well )... but! my misery in my head and the big D was all over me. Some kind of PTSD the doc said... Anyway guess what. I would watch or leave the Seinfeld episodes on in the background and the Sympohny of the dialogue.. the cadence between the characters, including the pauses and breath intakes.... it was Very Soothing to my soul. Gerry whining,kramer about to take the top off the kettle, your hysterical voice of reason... all subdued tones,,,,, and Elane's breakout lines.. I couldn't read or write , etc..... Anyway I wanted to tell you thandt the sound engineering should be studied because it had a healing effect. Apart from the dialogue or content, the voices and pauses and border good will sort of escorted me out of a hole after a few months and hand out with me for the next year while I healed up. I. swear I could teach a class on this if I knew how. There otta be a study as per music therapy using the Stienfeld dialogue as the course material- for Depression, Hope that made sense.

I was thinking about that exact Tennessee Williams' line just yesterday, out of nowhere. I actually have something of a click situation going on, and I'm not sure what it is, but when I try to relax my mind, my thinking, I think something physical in my head relaxes and moves back into it's normal place, because I've often scrunched my face in life in response to painful thoughts, and something physical seems to have stayed "pushed down", most likely something to do with the structures behind my eyes but who knows. So not the alcoholic click of that character in the play but maybe it could in fact be the same, where he relaxes from the alcohol, and his eyes relax, and something physical there relaxes and clicks back into place after having been pushed down as a response to mental pain.
