The trouble is doctors often do not give the right information. You can stick to a diet & be exercising & even though you stick with it the weight loss can stop completely dead. What needs to be understood is that for some people their hormonal set up is such that even if they do the diet & exercise the weight loss will not happen. You need to look at ways to change your hormonal set up. Unfortunately this can happen as a result of intense trauma & abuse in childhood. Cortisol blocks fat loss.
@Christian-fd2ct
@Christian-fd2ct 2 ай бұрын
@@sarahstrong7174 generally you may be right. But for the vast majority of Dr now's patients it's a mental and physical addiction to eating and most likely not a hormonal issue.

They need therapy separately so they can understand how toxic their relationship really is. Margaret's is definitely manipulative but why has her mother not said no to her before? Why wait until she's 720lb to get help? These cases are so complicated because there's a manipulative addict and an enabler living together.

Ok, so I’ll give you one example. Dr Now sent physical therapists to her house because she refused to get out of bed. After making her mother hold these 2 poor ladies at the front door for an hour, Margaret finally agree to let them inside but not before she yanked off the sheet she was wearing. So the therapists had to come in and talk to her pretending like she wasn’t laying in her bed naked as a jay bird with everything aggressively on display. She was also clearly an addict in love with those little shots they gave her.

I love him too. He’s tough, but rightfully so. I dealt with a lot of stress and depression over the last few years and ended up gaining a lot of the weight I had fought so hard to get off and rewatching the show and really listening to him and his advice really helped me these past few months. Started changing my eating habits with smaller portions, no snacking and exercising whenever I can. Walking and indoor cycling. It’s rough on my knees but I made a couple signs to help with motivation. One says “the scale doesn’t lie! No snacking!” And “every mile and every step is progress!! You got this.” Down to 142lbs and got 20lbs more to go to get to a healthy weight. Sometimes I hear his voice in my head if I think about a snack and I stay away from the kitchen. 🤣

There are millions of people in this country who need medicaid and other assistance and can't get it because people like this girl give people the impression everyone on the system is lazy. Medicaid cuts designed to see to it that people like this girl get cut off, end with some hard working single parent choosing between food and school supplies

As a nurse, let me tell you it is INSANE how much food family members bring to patients. I’m not talking about getting someone a sandwich or soup or a *little* junk food every now and then. I mean some families set up a whole pantry’s worth of candy, fast food, sodas, energy drinks, potato chips. It’s almost like some people don’t know how to nurture their loved ones except through food.

@@AndreaJones-eh3sd what can you do? It’s not a prison. We can ban visitors from the hospital if they’re posing a serious, direct threat to the patient, like smuggling in drugs (which of course I’ve seen a few times). But in cases where they’re bringing in fried chicken and ice cream to a diabetic patient with a stomach ulcer? It’s bad but not enough for us to restrict them. All we can do is lecture the patient about the doctor’s orders. Some doctors will read the patient the riot act, others will diplomatically say “you do you.” But at the end of the day, patients have to make their own choices
