Bless her heart, I know exactly how she feels. I’ve had psoriasis since I was nine years old , I am 61 years old now, twice I was treated at Stanford University as an inpatient for 2 weeks and one time at UCLA as a outpatient. My last bad outbreak, I went back to Stanford as an outpatient. I have psoriatic arthritis and am now 99% clear of plaque. Thank God for my Rheumatologist we tried several medication’s before we found Taltz not only is it helping with my arthritis but it has cleared my skin. Taltz is a once a month clicker shot and that’s it 😄Sending sweet Charlotte hugs and much love.❤

Bless you Stacy! I have psoriasis for about 15+ years and I'm 26 now. It got so bad this year that I had to try medication and my doctor gave me Taltz, too. And wow, rigth after the first injection it almost disappeared completely! I feel so much better now...no more pain, no more itching, normal skin looks and I don't have to clean the floor from skin scales!:)

I’m seriously glad you’re having a good journey on taltz. It was helping me too but the fight I had to put up for hours with insurance on the phone to get the shot every month became unbearable considering I work 40 hours a week. So now I’m back to square one im taking one more crack at it. I’d honestly rather insurance deny coverage and let me use the savings program

My father had psoriasis for many years just like her. He went to so many doctors and some didn’t charge him because they said they learned so much by just talking to him. He would soak in the tub every day until the scales were gone and then rub a cream into the patches. I don know what was in the cream, he mixed it himself. I know he bought several things at the drug store. He even had it in his finger nails. He died at 86 and how I wish he would have had this medication. He donated to the psoriasis foundation in hopes that someday their research would find a cure❤

So sorry she has to go through this. It not only looks bad. It feels bad too. It itches and burns, cracks and bleeds. I have arthritis have for years, but I have been through some really bad stressful events. Along with severe depression anxiety and panic attacks. I had scales and flakes from head to toe. And I mean everywhere. Finally dermatologist diagnosed me. Started me on shots ,but the ones I was using were making me have prickly heat rash. So we started me on clobatozole ointment for itch, and oral med called OTEZLA. It worked most places but not on my arms and fingers, inside ears, so they started me on a different shot skirizi and both the shot and pill hold the psriosis at bay. I have scars from the psriosis lol over. And I do get breakouts because sometimes I go without my meds, because my INS changed it's formula every year so what's covered this year may not be next year. My quality of life did change a little. But now not leaving my house because I look like I have some contagious skin disease ,I can't leave the house because of severe ,every 10 mins or so,diherria - that is a side effect of the meds. God bless this girl.

I had a bad psoriasis patch on the back of my left calf muscle for a long time. One of my Co workers always asked if I got badly burned there. Finally about 6 years ago when I was 37, I saw a Dr about it. She put me on a steroid ointment called Betamethasone. After about 4 months it cleared right up. Same with my knuckles. This poor girl does not deserve to go through that hell

I started getting psoriasis after I had a break down. Used to get it on my elbows, knees, scalp, behind my ears and started to get patches on my sides. Had it for years, then last November I was diagnosed with really high blood pressure. Then over the last year I lost 6 stone in weight, the good side effect apart from losing weight and my blood pressure back to normal. My psoriasis has completely gone. Just by eating clean, just drinking water and coffee, eating fruit and veg and cutting out all the junk food.

My brother in law has severe psoriasis. What works wonders for him is putting on the medication then covering it with Vaseline. Vaseline is almost a wonder drug for him. It significantly reduces his pain too when he has a bad flair up. If he has to put a lot of Vaseline on he puts cling film over it (his lower legs & feet are where it’s the worst) so he doesn’t make his bed greasy.

I suffered with psoriasis for 4 years before it was diagnosed as it was mainly in places you don’t show. My dr just said it was yeast infections and warts. It was not. I had RA for years prior to developing the psoriasis. I switched drs and started on otezla. 6 months later it’s almost completely cleared. Now being treated by a dermatologist. Such a relief not not itch all over all the time.

I’ve had psoriasis on my head for the last 40 years. I was never able to control it till now since I discovered what made it worst and that is the sweat my body produces. Since I sweat a lot from the head I need to shower 2 to 3 times a day so I can wash the sweat away from my hair and it’s been getting better since I’ve been removing the sweat. I use Dermovate cream and lotion and it’s helping out to control it now.

I'm so glad this person got help instead of being fobbed off and told to moisturize more, but, sadly, non-steroids or non-biologics don't usually feature in treatment. Steroids can cause additional problems and biologics can have horrible side effects. Why there is no uptake on other meds I don't know, perhaps not enough funding.

I’m not a doctor. But I have psoriasis. Try changing his diet. Eliminate dairy and wheat from his diet and see how it works. I had great success with changing my diet. Also, if you’re overweight, getting to a healthy weight helps to reduce inflammation in your body. But I’m not sure if that can be approved a 10 year old.

What I have read is that autoimmune diseases come in clusters, and the initial trigger is gluten. I know autoimmune diseases run in my family. I gave up gluten years ago and have had no issues. My sister had psoriasis as a child and later Crohn's disease. Maybe, maybe a coincidence.

@@shivixshivi My sister had psoriasis. My mother bought some sort of supplement for her. I think it cleared up. Maybe it wasn't actually psoriasis. We both have had autoimmune conditions. Some years back she had Crohn's disease.

Western Medicine is prehistoric. No discussion as to diet and lifestyle or stress management. Pathetic.

depends, never worked for me but can for others. there are lots of home remodys but medication is the fastest which is why i picked it in the end, stops the pain faster and stablizes you alowwing you to find an altenative without fear of pain or ill effect on day to day life.

@@johnpixie For people who are sensitive to gluten, it is very inflammatory. I think an elimination diet is worth a try.

@@kaakrepwhatever I agree, like I said it depends on the person. Didn't work for me but have for others. I was just pointing out there is not a one stop perfect fix that works for everyone
