Wouldn't a Dissolution Faction be more profitable, as that leaves the remnants of Francia "up for grabs"?

I fear the Mongols more than I want independence. That French meatshield seems nice until the Mongols self destruct more. Or try to ally the Mongols. Always a good idea...

I mean, if another guy wants independence, you might as well take advantage of the opportunity and join him. New friend for the master of Diplomacy I guess x)

I think joining the lower crown authority faction makes the most sense. It’ll open up internal Francia wars which is what you’re after. Dissolution faction seems like a bad idea. Independence faction would just force you to wait a truce period and forcing you to fight the Emperor for any bit of French land in the future. You could try a claim throne scheme via meritocracy perk in stewardship.

I think getting stronger in francia and then become independent is the best way to do this and i think try to be on the good side of the mongol is the best way for you to survive

Joining the faction could do no harm while you try to get a hook.

I'm more inclined to suggest either a dissolution faction or declaring independence yourself - I am unsure if joining the Italian faction will also lead to us being made independent, or if we nust facilitate them breaking away.
