I think what's really sad is that (from the lyrics), she actually went out of her way in her youth to reach out to her father and he turned her away. But then she became a celebrity and he returned. I'm sure she must have given him a chance, but only to realize the only reason he was back was to get money from her. Not because he missed her.

I cannot get through this song without drowning in tears. It is so powerful because she now has what she wanted and deserved. And is going to do everything to cherish her children. I usually don't comment on religion, but you really touched my heart sharing your story and your peace with it. Thank you for sharing yourself with us. It was very moving. May He bless and keep you because you're an example of how He wants us to turn to Him and let him lead you to forgiveness.

I just happened upon this reaction and don't know anything about you. But I could see in your face that something about this song resonated with you. That's why I watch reactions. Sometimes people just stare blankly at the screen. Those are not very worthwhile. But I like it when I see that a song has moved someone, or they can critique/review the music in some way. Yours did that.

Jon Duque I kinda think he did. I think he had to kinda put up a barrier between himself and his emotions. At least, that’s what I saw. I know I do it. It’s what I did when I watched “A star is born’ with Lady Gaga.

I'm a little late viewing your reaction to Piece By Piece. I stumbled upon you as well. I can't get through some of these "reactions" because they stop the video, or talk through them... Missing vital moments, licks, bridges... Loose the intention of the lyrics. I love how you responded after, giving us a true heartfelt response. And, giving glory to God for helping you to find peace, forgiveness. Amazing... I can't wait to see more. 💕🙏

This song kills me Everytime...my bio father was in and. Out of lmy life growing up but i was blessed with an amazing guy I called dad...he raised my sister and I as if we were his by blood ... He ended up getting cancer and we watched the strongest man we knew succumb to his cancer... We held his hand as he took his last breath ( we were like 10 )..I was lost when he died i tried to reach out to our bio dad who ignored me ..then he to was diagnosed with cancer ( couple years ago ) and he got in touch with me...said he was sorry about everything and asked for forgiveness... He said he is terrified to die alone and I forgave him and I promised him we would be there for him because he is our bio dad and unlike him we won't walk away when he needs us ..it's truely been the hardest thing to go through i wudnt wish on anyone

It’s so important to share feelings of a life of “Not Enough”....if we talk....someone else might feel less invisible....finding our worth is so important...funny enough....when you’re ok inside...you stop listing others in inventories so WE feel ok....and we see others as the gifts they are...it’s so important to own our time here...and to see past ourselves...love Kelly.....of course...lol...who wouldn’t...admitting flaws..or pasts never makes us less... no ones painted with one brush..or one color....life’s humbling in its infinite beauty sometimes...

This song got you like it got me , but like me time /forgiveness has replaced rage/confusion . But the song regardless bigs those old feelings through that floodgate that we both thought we built high enough . But that just bespeaks to Kelly’s genuine musical talent . Only a true artist has the capability to capture you and take you back to a moment in time that you thought you had long forgot . It’s a rare and beautiful talent that needs to be cultivated so that future generations understand what a truly good song is like and as the immortal Barry Gordy has said “ You got your last $5 bucks left to your name , you either buy that sandwich at the lunch counter cause you haven’t eaten in a week . Or, you go to the record store , and buy the album with the son* on it that makes you feel everything “. “ You only got that one chance as an artist to be able to captivate someone that way , and only then do you understand why it’s important that you hone you craft to reach your audience. “ It is that moment when you become a true artist “.

I know you’re not asking this question but in contrast to Kelly’s story, you having never known your father, it begs the question; would it be less painful to never have known your father, than to have known him, had him dump you then come back for money when you became successful? No. I think each has its own specific pain and leaves you with its own specific emptiness, scars, longing to be wanted and to belong. I am so blessed for you that the Lord helped you. I hope He is showing you through His love and acceptance, what it is to have a Real Father Who wants you and will never leave you. New subscriber.

...but then she met her husband who, piece by piece, helped her heal and (even while she was merely pregnant) showed her what a good dad should be. The "you" in the song is her a*hole father. The "he" is her husband, and the "she/her" is the daughter she was pregnant with when she wrote this.

Recommend checking out "Because of You." She wrote it about her father when she was 16 and "Piece by Piece" is like the happy resolution. (watching them back to back, especially the live version is definitely an emotional trip)

Hey guy, if you haven't reacted to Haley Reinhart's amazing cover of "Creep" yet, you will need to. It already has over 46 million views here on youtube because it is absolutely great. I guarantee you will be blown away. Not to mention, that it is not remotely like any other "Creep" version you have ever heard. As this version is very different, and Haley's amazing vocals will just utterly astound you. She also has incredible vocals on "Seven Nation Army", which showcases another completely different style voice than what she employed in "Creep", but again I promise she will blow you away. Lastly, she has one more must see, this one is called "Oops I Did It Again". This one is another different style again altogether, but her voice and astounding vocal control and amazing sex-appeal are guaranteed again to completely blow you and your audience away. Indeed, after you view all three of those, I promise you that you will become a lifetime fan of Haley Reinhart and become a Halien just like I am. By the way, if you ever have the chance to see her perform live, please don't miss the opportunity because I can assure it will be something you will never forget for the rest of your life.
