It was tragic; the whole thing was tragic. In the end, I don't blame Charles, Diana, or Camilla for this disaster. They were pawns of a matchmaking scheme made by others. Diana, it goes without saying, got the worst of it. I don't think Charles regrets the marriage to Diana because he got two fine sons out of it, and, contrary to gossip, he did try to make the marriage work, but nothing could be done to rectify what was obviously a mismatch. The Royal Family didn't make the same mistake again with regard to Prince William. He picked who he wanted and made sure he made the right choice. So far it appears to have worked out.

I totally agree.... it was an unkind, convenient mismatch by her Majesty, not just because Camilla was a commoner but also because she had a past with guys and they wanted a virgin, unspotted lamb...Pathetic, but I'm actually glad they married eventually. I couldn't stand Camilla for many years, until I discovered they were so in love with each other from young, way before Diana. As much as I loved Diana and that she and Charles had two lovely sons, it was horrendous manipulation. I find it so pretentious to go talk and play with these kids and visit charities for like 1 hours or less and just get a few footage and photos with so many cameraman and photographers there filming and picturing every move and you do and you are well aware of it. I agree with Kari, and I'll state it further. Look at the situation. Charles COULD NOT marry again until he became a widower. He wanted Camilla as his wife well before Diana came into the picture. The reason he married Diana was for her lineage, her looks and her virgin womb, end of story. After giving birth to Harry, Charles was heard to say with a sigh of relief, "My job is done.". That doesn't sound like something a committed husband would ever say. Let's take a look at the car crash in Paris. Diana knew Charles wanted her dead. She even wrote to a friend that she feared for her life. The only survivor of the crash conveniently had a serious head wound, of the magnitude that amnesia of the event was eminently plausible. The driver was drunk and driving a poorly maintained car, and was speeding at 100 mph. The safe Mercedes was packed away somewhere for "repairs". Everything put together makes for a very thick plot. Why did it take so long for the emergency services to transport Diana to hospital? How long was it? 45minutes? an hour? Even so, she would most probably have died, but I'll state here again: the only way Charles could obey the Anglican Church and marry Camilla was if Diana was dead. It's all far too convenient for everything to have worked out so well for King Charles. Diana's sons however... Harry is a bona fide mess and needs a mother to give him everything that he missed after losing Diana. William became an adult the day his mother died and took 7 years to ask HRH Catherine to marry him. I don't wonder. Once Diana realized that she could actually catch Charles, the chase was on and facilitated by her family. Then as soon as they were on their honeymoon (most of which was at Balmoral), Diana declared each of his interests as borrrring. When the honeymoon moved on to Balmoral she would have have fits of screaming and crying when he wouldn’t do what she wanted when she wanted him to do it (the court was at Balmoral for the summer so there was official business going on and many witnesses). After the honeymoon she proceeded to, one by one, separate him from his friends (he would give in to avoid conflict with her), then his staff (who would quit because she would not look at or speak to those she wanted to leave. In her mind, she loved him, but then attempted to change everything about him, and if he wanted any kind of peace, he would comply. Diana and her family, particularly the Spencers, were very ambitious and misrepresented who she was to the RF, particularly regarding her emotional health & stability. The Spencer’s actually had a bit of a reputation for unstable men (Diana’s mom cited abuse in the divorce), but the RF didn’t think the mental issues affect the Spencer women. Diana actually refused to cooperate with mental health professionals provided by the RF when they realized how unstable she was, and wouldn’t accept mental health help for years (yes, the RF tried to get her professional help) until a friend threatened to out her bulimia to the press because she was afraid it would kill her. And that is just how she treated Charles. As a grown woman she held hostility towards her mother for leaving her abusive father (her mother took Diana & her brother with her but lost custody), pushed her 60 year old stepmother down the stairs (long after Diana married btw), threw her stepmother’s things out the window in trash bags after her father died, fired one staff for claiming expenses with the palace for some trips with Diana (completely legitimate expenses), and fired another who was the currier delivering tapes to Andrew Morten for her for accepting reimbursement from the publishing company. It didn't start as an affair. It started as a love match on both their parts. Had they both been allowed to choose, it's clear they would've chosen each other. They were both forced in different directions by the system they were caught up in. Of course, it was absolutely terrible for Diana. It wasn't acceptable that she was used the way she was. But it was terrible for all parties. I think Camilla is a lovely lady, and I'm glad that she and Charles have found a measure of peace, and happiness, at last.

Diana was at least as petty, vengeful, and malevolent as she was kind. Diana planned on marrying Prince Andrew all her life until she realized she had a chance of being Princess of Wales, succeeding where her sister, Sarah, failed. Diana pretended to be interested in Charles’ hobbies & interests (fishing, hunting, gardening, art, architecture, reading, country life/Balmoral) to get him to marry her, then after the wedding she dropped the pretense of sharing his interests and tried to get him to drop them all. The Spencers knew that Diana was emotionally unstable but kept this information from the RF. Diana didn’t seriously apply herself to treatment until a long time friend threatened to expose her bulimia to the press because she believe she would die from it. Diana once poured something all over the expensive car of a date, ruining the paint, for cancelling on her & poured glue in the locks of another. She fired at least two staff (people that need a paycheck to survive) for claiming work expenses with the palace, saying they made money off her. As a grown married woman, Diana still blamed her mother for leaving her physically & emotionally abusive father, pushed her 60 year old stepmother, Raine, down the stairs, and after her father died put Raine’s belongings in trash bags and threw them out of an upstairs window.

Funny how they show her interacting with kids ( _to young to know her history_ ) and the elderly ( _probably suffering from dementia so they don’t remember what she’s done_ ), I’d love to see her with a group of people in between 35-65, they would end up asking real questions or pointing out how she wronged a young woman who didn’t deserve it. If she truly loved Charles she shouldn’t have gotten married to another man and had his children. If she actually went into marriage to Andrew Parker Bowles with love for him, she shouldn’t have cheated on him and continued to do so until he finally divorced her. Charles could’ve given up the Prince of Wales title and married her or could’ve actually been faithful from the start to his marriage to Diana. Camilla could’ve divorced APB if his cheating was as bad as it’s stated. Whether they’ll admit or even acknowledge it, what they did to Diana, William, Harry and Camilla’s children wasn’t right, especially when they were in their positions as Public leaders/servants. Nothing any of these people say, will change my mind. At the same time, I have a hard time believing Diana’s death was a simple car crash over photographers. Without Diana being alive, Charles was able to marry his obsession, Camilla. Had Diana still been alive, they wouldn’t be able to be married and live together openly. Even if her death had been a simple wreck, they still destroyed her while she was alive for the short time she was here.
