Real Russia

Күн бұрын

Sergey Baklykov, the host of the "Real Russia" channel, shows his new apartment at Karl Marx Street in the center of Ufa, Russia and some typical real Russian things that are around it.
This way, on the example of his own personal life, he shows some features of Russian being as from good, as from bad side - everything "as is". No Fake No Bullshit!

Great location for your new digs, Sergey! Marvelous panoramic view -- will be a very energizing and uplifting influence for you and your family. Your wife did a fantastic job keeping up with you on the camera, no shaking, bobbling or weaving -- she may have a whole new career ahead of her.

I've trained her a lot during a week before filming this episode. Also for the sake of the quality I was not greed to spend a couple of hundreds dollars to buy a shoulder rig for her that to minimaze all possible shakings, bobblings and weavings. Thank you very much for comment and appreciation of our work!

Hearing that drill right as you were pantomiming shaving like that was just such perfect timing. It sounded like you were running an electric shaver as you were doing it.

I like Sergey and "Real Russia. I may never afford to visit Russia but I feel like I have a friend there. I like the narratives and scenery. Honestly, it takes me back to USA in 1970's which was the USA in it's prime. Sergey, it looks like you are doing something you really enjoy and you have become an ambassador of friendship and I commend you for the job you are doing and that is showing us how much we have in common. This apartment is just awesome. And that ceiling in the bathroom . . . otlichnyy! I thought it was pretty funny while you were pantomiming shaving and the neighbor upstairs started drilling - it sounded like an electric shaver at first. I thought it was a sound effect. haha! This was great.

And Marcy, I could even go along with GMO if they made the plants more resistant to weeds and pests instead of more resistant to herbicides, so they can spray even more toxic herbicide and make weeds even more resistant to them. It's a vicious circle, though very profitable for Monsanto.

Thanks a lot for a comment with a good words of appreciation!Also you mention a great idea that I have in my head for a long time - to show all around in the street. But I am still not sure how to make it in a best possible way. I want to drive and film, but I don't want just to film from the passanger's seat. I think it must be the car with a hatch on the roof or so. I will think about it.

I enjoy your blogs very much. I would dearly love to visit Ufa but as I am now in my late 70's and failing health that long trip (half way around the world from where I live in Saskatchewan, Canada) would probably be the end of me. 19 years ago I was working at a gold mine 1000 km north east of Magadan. I enjoyed Russia and the people very much. I never did learn the language though!!

Looks really nice. I LOVE the landscape. Your daughter got the room with the best view I'm jealous I wish my room had tons of windows that open like that haha :) So as you mentioned the apartments you live at, they are still doing construction correct? That's good that there are less people to deal with and more parking, less crackheads or other crazies to mess up the apartment. Very nice. I also agree with you about the door situation, Ufa needs to make doors more handicap accessible because older people, disabled and even children could accidentally hurt themselves between the door. Overall I loved the location and building keep it up Sergey and it was nice seeing your wife :)

Thank you for comment and good words! This is a new house and I meant that many people are yet still making a maintenance in their apartments. Because originally all apartments are "in black". It means there nothing but just a naked walls, floors and ceilings. So you have to start with leveling and whitening your walls, ceilings and floors. Then you have to make a floors. We've placed a laminate (class 33). Then you have to make a wallpapers or to paint your walls. In the bathroom you need to make a tiles. You need to buy the doors and etc.

I like it very much! Nice! That bathroom is fantastic as is the view! We in the USA would call the apartment a condominium if you purchase instead of rent. Do you pay any extra "fees" like maintenance or association charges? That's how they rob condo owners in the US - well, that and ..."restrictions" - strangers telling you how to live your life. The price sounds very reasonable! In Vermont I have a 2 room, only 28 sq, meters (about 300 U.N. AGENDA 21 sq.ft.) @ $5,350 a sq. meter but the place is dark with only 2 windows and no balcony. My place was last redecorated in the early '70s and is nowhere near as nice as yours. *But*... I *do* live on a river, the "Winooski". The damned thing had us evacuated *3 times (!)* in the last 4 years - twice for flooding and once because of an ice jam! Anyway, nice video. I see you're limping a little - favoring that ankle. Hope it's better and healing properly. See you next time.

If to follow your words then yes, this apartment is a condominium. Everybody have to pay a monthly utility bills for it - water, electricity, heating, and other maintenance! And yes, I can confirm that it's one of the biggest ways to rob people! :) Thank you very much for your comment!

My wife not too good with English but learning it. What about the languages at school... it used to be English and German back in the old Soviet Union time, now as far as I know only English.
@TheWaysOfTheWarrior
@TheWaysOfTheWarrior 10 жыл бұрын
***** That's kind of depressing that they only teach English now. Where I live in the US we only had Spanish as an optional second language. This isnt meant to be racist, there's way more Mexican Spanish speakers than English speakers where I live and it didnt used to be like that. I always refused to learn Spanish and i took advanced placement art instead (most people arent given an option to skip), I just don't like the language and I have no interest to learn it. I started learning German online because one my ex girlfriends is German and I was going to possibly move to Germany, but that never happened. I also started teaching myself Korean because I like the culture and I wanted to move there too. The only language i've heard that I wanted to learn because I like the way it sounds though is Russian and I wish I was given the option to learn is as a second language in school. It would be cooler if a wide variety of languages were offered in every school.
@XIDeuce
@XIDeuce 10 жыл бұрын
Yeah I agree there! Here in the UK we were taught French as standard but in our 2 final years of school (Years 10-11/ Ages 15-16) we are given the option of German and Spanish. But there was rare 'dinner classes' that you scarified lunch for learning Chinese, Polish and Urdu. There should be a wider variety of Languages taught in schools without having to go to college/uni for.

TheWaysOfTheWarrior When I was in high school we could study German, Spanish or French. Plus they had clubs for each language taught, and a summer trip to either Germany, Spain or France. This was in a public school in Minneapolis, MN.

Jeff Thompson Yea I know different states/schools offer different programs. I live in California near Sacramento. We have 4 different high schools, I lost track of how many jr high's, there's 3 that I know of, 4 if you count a christian school thats grade 1-12. They all only offered Spanish, it was pretty disappointing. I pretty much attended all of the schools in the city except the Christan school.

I think it was the perfect decision to have your wife as the camera person. You have a really lovely wife, and she did an awesome job... I hope she continues with you on future Real Russia episodes. Tell her hello from the Real Russia audience... What profession does Albina work in, or is she a stay at home mom for Vika? As an architect, I am really intrigued by your buildings (spatial layouts, arrangements, building methods and materials, and etc.). I have a billion questions I want to ask about differences in your buildings, but I better not overwhelm you. I noticed in a previous episode that you guys construct buildings quite differently than where I am from. Those windows you have in your apartment are interesting to me. It appears to me that your windows both swing inward but also pivot from the bottom upward too (like the open window in Vika's room 10:48). I've never seen a window like that before that is hinged in two directions. You guys over there love wallpaper with strong patterns ;) That's quite different than what I'm used to. That railway station near the river looks cool. Maybe we can go there for a future Real Russia episode. Best wishes to you, your family, and Real Russia. Peace...

Hello Matthew,thank you very much for your comment! It's great to see how from the first sight the simpliest episodes showing so many differences. That's what I always aspire for - simple, informative and fun. For now Albina will continue to make Real Russia, I really don't see any better candidate than her now.

Glad to see you back in Ufa. Hello to your wife! In the gated condo park where I live, we, too, had the trash chutes shut off. We now take the trash to the basement to separate paper and recyclable plastics from the trash and sell it to keep the trash fees low.

Excellent ! Good to see you back and showing everyone your new place to...Well you spelled it out for us. Great views and near the river. Do you fish ? Well maybe the river is cleaner than the Los Angeles river when we have water. We catch typhoid, tires and shopping carts. Sometimes old cars when the storms hit. If that's the plumbing making that noise maybe strap them pipes and/or add an expansion tank where all the water tees off to the supply on your section of apartments. Best to you and your lovely wife and family.

Thank you! Yes, I've got back as I promised before and everything just begins! I do not fish, but my father-in-law is a big fan of fishing, he do fishing for all of his life, no matter in the summer time or at winter. He even loves fishing at winter much better. Because he likes freeze winter fresh air! No, the noise was because of somebody grooved the walls. Probably for changing the ways of an electric cables. Best wishes back!

Sergey and Albina, your new place looks very nice. Even better than the other two, with a great view and lots of fresh air up on the hill. Close to the train station too, which is a plus. I hope you were able to come out ahead again by buying in an unfinished building. I hope you won't be limping for very much longer, Sergey, though I can see it isn't slowing you down too much. Albina did a very good job with the camera. Nice and steady, like a pro.

This is really the first episode for the last 6-7mo I am 100% satisfied with! :)I trained Albina a lot before she filmed this episode, I also wasn't not greed to spend 200usd for a shoulder rig which definitely helped her to keep the picture more steady than if she held it in hand. Because you guys deserve it! You deserve not only good content but good technical work!
