I think the ignorance stems from psychological and contextual reasons. People don't like to get involved in business that isn't theirs, there were many people in the area and they thought that they would help instead, and of course the public wasn't privy to children being brutal murderers. Also, because these boys were 10, people probably assumed that they were helping James or that one of them was a bigger brother trying to get him to safety.
@TomahawkD112 ай бұрын
I hear you but when it's happening in the moment most people tend to rationalize it away or think someone else will call for help or intervene. It happens quite alot. Idk if you are from the states or not but there was a string of murders called the alphabet murders in New York state. And one of the first killings involved a young girl running down the road naked from the waist down with her pants in her hand waving and yelling for help while a car was backing up chasing her down and no passing cars stopped to help. They all thought the next person would or that it was a child acting up while using the bathroom. The case remains unsolved to this day

This truly broke my heart.. When he said "He just kept getting back up".. I can just picture James getting up crying and confused, not knowing why they are hurting him and that he's dying. Each time reaching out his arms like little kids do when they want to be held and for help. Makes me sick to my stomach how scared he must have been and how brutal and painful his final moments of his short little life were. Yes, because the law in many cases protects children. I imagine if these two 10 year olds were selling weed they'd get no jail time at all. @@kyaos_Meteor because for one thing, privacy is an extremely important human survival tool - a defence mechanism against harm and cumulative stress caused by "exposure" (which is consistently touted as a "good" thing, in spite of the undeniable, and pure negativity it brings with it). Civilization fought for centuries for the right to have its privacy - it wasn't striven for by accident, it was done to protect people from unfair preconceptions (and therefore unexpected harmful consequences), from others. Nobody ever *needs* to reveal anything about their lives to anyone else - under any circumstances. The responsibility for potential spouses etc. to ensure their own wellbeing, is their own, their family's, the community's, the nation's, the world's - GOD's. Society used to be able to manage that in a more tangible - and VASTLY less offensive fashion - than it does today. It was more passively incorporated into the fabric of society, rather than targeted [AT] a specific individual, so that everyone was able to positively benefit. Ironically, it's possible that James Bulger might actually have been spared, had mechanisms that _used_ to be at work within society's comprehensively protective ethos, actually continued to maintain its status quo. This whole thing might never have ever happened.

I wouldn't explicitly blame the murder on the parents. Some people are simply screwed in the head regardless of their upbringing. There are hundreds if not thousands of juvenile delinquents and they don't go around killing toddlers - at least this is the first (and I sincerely hope the only) case I heard of. While they have been neglected this is not a "normal" or typical criminal behaviour, n'or does it have anything to do with gang violence. I would think that even if they never skipped a school day they'd still would have hurt someone. It's the nature of the beast, as they say.

That I also think all the time. This murder boys were still children. Maybe at one point they was overwhelmed from their own action, but adult people should have seen, that there was a very bad action going on. They had can ask what’s going on and the little boy had can taken away from the scene. And by the way, why was a two years old boy at this time on the streets, was really nobody wondering?!?

Venables and Thompson had brought blue paint stolen from the shopping mall and splashed it in Bulger’s left eye. They then kicked him, pummelled him with bricks and stones, and stuffed batteries into his mouth. Finally, the boys hit Bulger over the head with a 22-pound iron bar, which resulted in 10 skull fractures. All in all, Bulger sustained 42 injuries to his face, head, and body. He was so badly battered, authorities later concluded, that there was no way to tell which injury represented the fatal blow. Eventually, Venables and Thompson placed Bulger’s dead body (a forensic pathologist later concluded that he was dead at this point) across the train tracks, in hopes of making the whole thing look like an accident, and abandoned the scene before a train came along and severed the toddler in two. How is this justice ?

@@verabolton That is such a poor excuse to call them evil. No, they didn’t. They were afraid because they were gonna get yelled at in their minds. That’s a natural response for every child, you’re basically wanting them to act despicable so you can just label them as truly evil. A child can break an important memorabilia by playing with it but not understand the weight of their actions nor the weight of value that object has to the family. Of course they’re gonna cry in fear, they don’t want to get yelled at but didn’t have the ability to comprehend the weight of their actions.

The adults who saw these freaks taking James are as guilty as them,I would rather report and be wrong ,than ignore it and have this happen.
