After my divorce in 2009 I just focused everything on my kids. If someone came in to date or what not, in those days they never met my children. One week my darlings would be with me, and the next they would be with their dad. That has worked so well. So when the kids are away the mouse will play…? Is that the saying? Lol Seriously tho… in the USA/America, reform is something not even brought to the table to help inmates. All we do is lock them away, toss the key until they are turned out. Jails/prisons here are privatized so they can make money. If you know anyone in prison, ask them how much a cup of noodles is, ask them how much deodorant is, shampoo, etc etc etc… it honestly is sad

However, his twin brother testified that he did it and they have Reg on the pawn shop camera selling Carlos Garza's jewelry he stole. Later on, after we went our separate ways again and my life had a semblance of order, I heard through the grapevine that she had been arrested through her involvement with this particular prisoner. Jail talk 101. I fell for it in my late 20s and actually married some jackhole I didn't know. It stems from loneliness and a bit of being sick of being cheated on. We know they can't cheat ( at least with another woman) while they're locked up and that gives a feeling of safety. All the while, you are most definitely NOT the only woman they're connecting with. Also, you can call ALL of the shots in the relationship. It's sad really but you won't listen to anyone until you see for yourself that it's just jail talk/ letter writing 101 and they almost always know exactly what to say to get you to "fall in love". And at times tattoo their initials on your neck. A forever stamp of my stupidity. 🤦♀️ I'm now 50, and still have that damn thing.

My mom dated a man named John who was in prison with 2 life sentences. She started dating him when I was about 4, and since my dad was not in the picture she introduced this man to me as "Papa". She was also an inmates activist, which is how she met him, and she wrote a ton of letters to him and other inmates. She'd try to help people get legal help for inmates and she'd do a lot of work on behalf of them. She helped John the most though, and she believed that she would be able to get his sentence overturned and that he would come home to us. This went on for 10 years. She would always talk about all the things we were going to do when "papa gets home". She even went as far to buy fishing poles and maps, saying that we were all going to travel together when he got out. Of course that never happened, she eventually left John because he was verbally abusive in his letters and started dating another incarcerated man for the next 7 years.

This is really tragic for her that her self esteem was so low this is what she aimed for, guys on death row. It was like a hobby and a lifestyle , gave her structure and things to do in her life, made her feel, made her feel important. I hope she got the help she needed afterward so she could get a real relationship for herself. While she helped a mans last moments, she doesn’t have to be a modern day martyr, she is not Joan of Arc, she is doing all of this out of complete boredom and loneliness and emptiness and no self love. Sad.

I was extremely curious to hear Reg’s voice and hearing his parts in the interview I immediately felt a sense of unease about him. The tone in his delivery just seemed very slick in a pimp-like manner and his answers didn’t seem genuine at all. It’s clear he was attempting to portray himself as one way to those who can’t see through him.

I believe she intentionally sought out an inmate on death row to maybe get sympathy or see someone die even. It just smells a little fishy to me. She’d have been better off finding someone who had battled cancer as well, if she wanted to be with someone who’d battled for their life. These inmates will lie and tell you what you want to hear for their own selfish desires. Of course that man claimed to be innocent, he was waiting on his appeal from the Supreme Court. Yes, their can be innocent people in there but it certainly isn’t the majority. She also wasn’t present for his court appearance to know all of the details. She missed out on a real loving physical relationship with someone who could have been wonderful for her.
