Instead they hold off because the person must share the same belief in order to marry
@Alexandra-jn2nr5 жыл бұрын
If it's their own free choice then it's their business. If you have strong beliefs you want to be with someone who shares them, pretty simple and healthy in the long term. If those things are important to you, of course. See, If I am a practicing christian, go to church/camps/studies and have strong morals about marriage,family etc, how can I be with an atheist or muslim(or other,whatever) with so different beliefs and principles? It would be important to me to be on the same page, simple as that. Same goes to all people, regardless or their belief or other important thing they seek in a relationship. Problems appear when, for example, a guy from a religious family want to date a nonreligious girl but the family is against... the guy should listen to his instinct and do his own thing, ofc. Aaanyway, all this people from this series seem kinda weird to me...and not because of their beliefs. I think they selected the "not so wise" ones...
@seaweed3495 жыл бұрын
I would agree generally except in the case of Jewish and Christian beliefs..and for different reasons. As a Christian, it would be hard for me to be married to a non-believer because my belief is the center of my life and it would be distracting to divide my priorities. These youngsters never cease to amaze me with such superficial lists of criteria. If were young again and dead set on marriage (which I never was), I’d be looking for someone who wouldn’t beat me, rob me, throw me out and hold my kids to ransom. That’s all I’d be screening for. They’ve clearly no idea what they’re getting themselves into. Especially looking for someone religious.

Ohhhh Natalie... Your standards are Wayyy to high, You seem to be a Lovely person, A friendly.. easy to talk & get along with girl, But you need to actually have the standards you are looking for yourself Maybe set your standards a tad lower .

Jason is a mommys boy. He could really use moving out and starting his own life. Once he is confident and independent he would find the right girl. Natalie is delusional- looking like she does she sure makes lot of demands. Same as w jason- she should work on herself in all ways and the try to find a husband. Richard seems like a true douchebag. Surely he will find a wife but ....

God I hate this mentality so much. Just be with the person that makes you happy, regardless of their race/religion etc. For those people that want to just ‘look for love’ within a sub-group that ensures common interest - fine. But don’t date someone & look down you nose at them & day they aren’t worthy of marriage because of their nationality or religion! Poor Laura is being lead on and hidden from the family, all whilst he puts her down & talks about her she’s not good enough because of her nationality and beliefs. If you switch up the people & think of it as though they are talking about being white & needing to be with another white person to continue the genes, family connection & white race; as well as their morals & ethics being the same etc. Then it starts to sound real sick, real fast!
@lozzylols5 жыл бұрын
I think you are taking it a bit far. I don't see anything wrong with wanting to date someone with the same religious beliefs as you, especially if you have always wanted to bring your children up in your faith. I was christened, and some of my family are religious but it wasn't a big thing. I have tried to find a way in a faith but never seemed to find one that suits my way of thinking. I can't imagine marrying a man of a religion and he wanting to raise our children under that religion. I would want to raise my children with religious freedom to decide what and how they want to believe. So surely if you want to continue your life in a faith then it isn't crazy to consider that your ideal match will be someone with the same views as yourself!
