Inspite of apparent similarity when it comes to education, the difference between Chinese and Jews is that a Jew's focus is love of learning whereas for the Chinese it's more a quest for social status, ie becoming rich and showing off to friends. For example, a Chinese parent will brag about what university their kid got accepted to but will not question whether the university's prestige is truly deserved. Because the emphasis is on the prestige rather than on the substance. That at least has been my repetitive experience.

It depends on his level of observance. Generally, the more observant, the less of a chance. "Cultural Jews" or "bagel and lox Jews" will most likely not have a problem with it. If a more religious Jew falls in love with you, he will most likely want you to convert to Judaism. Hope this helps, and I'm happy to answer any questions you have.
