I love Buc-ees. You never have to wait for gas or to use a bathroom. Love their housewares too and buy the goat milk soap. I have never had to wait for checkout. It must just be that one.

No it happened to me last year at a Bucees off the highway it was huge like Shopping Mall Ridiculous amount of cars . In Texas off 287 or I-35 anyway it was packed. I didn't have that much time. #2 Son wanted me to go to the Czech Bakery Store and get pastries. It wasn't cheap so I ham roll then used my app and went next door to Sonic. I wasn't impressed with the pastries but apparently a lot of people are. You cannot look around first because the line goes around the inside of the store. It smelt good but with a minimal budget . I took the ham roll. It was 3 more hrs home.

Buc-ee's in Alabama is great. We spent couple hours just looking. We loved it. We are getting one in Mississippi now. Can't wait. There are welcome signs in both states. You just didnt see them if was not on the right road. You should have went and visited 3 Mississippi.

I have been on well water most of my life. The bladders go out on the pressure tanks quite often. Mine usually last longer than 3 years though.

The welcomed sign for Alabama is on I-10 east coming out of Mississippi right before you get to the rest area on the right in Grand Bay Alabama.Same as Welcome to Mississippi sign on I-10 going west before you get to rest Area in Mississippi. Sorry you didn't see the signs. If you were on I-10 you had to cross the Pascagoula River bridge.That river is the last free flowing river left in the United States. I lived on that river for 40 years. KZbin has a hour video that was done in the late 80's or 90's about this river. Check it out .Watch you'll every day.

We have been to so many Buc-ees and specifically the one you mentioned, and just love the food and the service and not to mention the super spotless bathrooms! Normally there are no lines at all! You should give it another try if you go past one. You must have missed the Welcome signs because I travel those major roads often and there is a Welcome sign at the beginning of each state and some of the back roads.

It’s definitely not worth it at Buccees! Way too crowded for me!! The sign is there, you just missed it. I’m from Alabama. It’s says welcome to Alabama the beautiful! If you came into AL on I10. I promise they r there. 😂😂😂 I’m glad y’all had a great time in PCB! If you want a less crowded experience Pensacola Beach is better. I love the beaches from PCB to Gulf Shores AL and Biloxi MS is fun relaxing getaway for adults. 😊😊

That Florida sun is different. It will bite you in a New York minute. The best time to go to the beach is in the morning or in the late afternoon. The sun will burn the daylights out of you in the middle of the day. Always wear a T-shirt during the hot part of the day and wear a hat to protect your face and eyes. Stay under an umbrella or tarp while the sun is the brightest.

I understand what you mean about the water. Our water is so hard that we have to have the hot water tank changed every three years. So glad you were able to have an amazing trip you deserve a little down time. God Bless from your Canadian Friend.

It's a few thousand dollars to do that job that we are squirreling away for metal on the roof. It's a cash flow thing. We save x amount each month to go towards materials and x amount for living expenses and x amount for fun. We'll get it done when the time is right 😎👍🏼

❤😢 I can tell that you're spirited after the short time away from your home. Gary is laughing and smiling so much more today. Sorry about your feelings about my state of Mississippi but it's been a long time since I have been in south Mississippi like the 80's. I did go to Bay St. Louis 1 year after hurricane Katrina hit it. Nothing was recognizable.

We live just south about 15 miles from that Buc-ees and have never seen it that busy inside. But, when we stopped yesterday, Monday, it was nuts. So don’t let it hinder you from stopping again, it’s not always that hectic. Come down to our beaches in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach sometime. 😊

I used to live in Mobile, AL I taught at the University of South Alabama. The Buc-ees was not there when I lived there so I cannot speak on it. However, the ones in TX are nice and there is one 22 miles from me presently that is nice. Hate you had a bad experience.

I like Bucees, ours just opened up recently. But we have 8 or more cash registers for people. Plus you can get your gas at the pump with your card. I like that feature.

My water is undrinkable and when I wash my hair in the shower I have a 5 gallon bucket and several gallons jugs inside with rainwater which I only use to rinse my hair as it’s warm enough at room temperature in summer and sits near heater in winter. It makes my hair so soft and clean. Also found that Dr Bronner’s liquid pure Castile soap works great as body wash as well as shampoo as it rinses so clean and clear(I use baby unscented, rose scented, and peppermint for going outside because it deters the bugs)

I lived in Georgia for many years and we went to Panama City Beach several times each year. We love that beach and that beach only. Destin is real close to Panama City and it is more a family atmosphere. Same beach. I live in South Carolina now not any good beaches. There is a Buc’cu’s in Perry Georgia and we love it. The line is long but they get you out in a hurry. Barbecue sandwiches are delicious. Just wanted you to know not all are bad. Glad y’all enjoyed your get away.

Try using Iron Out to remove the iron on the tub shower walls. We use a saltwater conditioner and when the little bulb turns orange I use about 1 cup of Ironout in the tank. It has a back flush and it seems to help. I use the powder in my tank and toilet. Wear a mask! we don't drink our water Know one dose on our road. We live on the river. You can get it at Walmart or Amazon. I hope this helps you.

Bladder tanks are a PITA. I got rid of mine and got a 40 gallon fiberglass holding tank and when it starts short cycling I drain the tank to clean it out. Then I fill it about half way and put in 40 psi of air then let it cut off on its own. About once a year. You can do the same with a bladder tank the same way just add air and it's the same thing. You just need the air cushion.

Interstate 20 around State line signs have been taken out by storms A-LOT in the last 3~4 years. However the newer “4 lanes” that in recent years (within 10) 69,14,22 for example an there are at least two more have not been updated being that a couple of those were just declare interstate highways in 2022-2023

I know you have been in Ark. Now for 3+ yrs and have gotten used to the environment. But...woah what a massive change from Az. I'm in southern Az and boy could we use some of that rain. You two are amazing. What you have accomplished in 3 yrs is unreal. Building your own home 🏡, animals, garden it's amazing. I am amazed at the growth of the kids. They seemed so little when you moved. But look at them now. You're a great family doing amazing things. Be safe you guys. I freaked out when Mel fell. Take care and do whatever it is you need to do and not worry about what others think. It's your life and you make your call on what, when, where on what you choose to do on your home. I have never seen that at any of the Buccees here in Texas, but with that said, you should come to Texas, to 6 Flags Over Texas, and/or Great Wolf Park, and if you pass a Buccees that doesn't have a packed parking lot, you might try it again!!!😊🎉❤

Florida has some beautiful State Parks where you can usr a camper or you can tent camp. These parks usually have natural springs that you can swim in but they are not on the beach. But you have to be careful because there might be some alligators around. Alligators will swim in the springs at night. Actually, if there are marshes hooked on to the beautiful clear springs- there are alligators hiding in those marches. But if you stay in the swimming area and you stay away from marshy wooded area the alligators will leave you along during the day light hours. There use to be a camp ground and RV park actually on the beach in Saint Augustine. St. Augustine is also a neat place. These camp grounds are a lot cheaper to stay at but of course they are not as nice as a condo. There are some motels and hotels that are cheaper but they aren’t all that nice and their may be 10 college kids sleeping in the room next door.

Mel you are so fair you should put on a #30 sunscreen. Your Buc-ee's experience sounds crazy. We have been about 4 times we never stood in line or even seen a line that long. It could have been because of people on vacation. I hope that doesn't put a bad taste in your mouth about Buc-ee's because their sliced brisket sandwich is to die for and so many neat things in there. 😊

My two brothers and I taught each other that arms in opposite direction thing. Brothers A&B each held a wrist of brother C and made the proper motion independently. After a very short while, brother C could do it through induced muscle memory basically, if such a term exists. So, Mel,you’ve got two daughters that need to help you practice in secret until you get it perfected, then one day you just casually stroll up to Gary and show off, then walk away like it was nothin’😏

Bucees is in Baldwin co. before you get to Mobile.. when you go on the bayway into the tunnel then you're in Mobile , Mobile co. Y'all passed right through where I live. Which is in Daphne. All the tourist stop at Bucees , I have yet to step foot into Bucees I don't like crowds. We have beaches also. Lots of Tourist clog up our interstate from Bucees to Mobile and then the beach road . So we don't get to go to our beaches.On the beach roads it will take you hours to get down to the beach cause of the traffic , and it's only 35-40 minutes for us to get there. Then if there is a wreck on the interstate then the traffic detours on to the road we have that takes us to our subdivision and we can't get out cause the out of towners won't let us in . Next trip y'all come this way.. wave to me.. lol..
