Hi Tony - I think these new videos are really hitting the mark (at least, they are for me!) Your mix of rambling (don't change this!) and gentle instruction and advice should help everyone. I find I'm not trying too hard now, just 'letting things happen' as they say. Problem is, I think I still overthink certain things and am a little too quick to correct with the eraser instead of using it as a creative tool, so I've got to get out of that habit. Your advice on how to sit and position the paper really helps. I'm still working with graphite but hope to invest in some charcoal soon, so we'll see how that goes. Anyway, excellent stuff and keep up the good work. Best regards.

Thanks Tim. I'm seeing a drop in numbers of views, but I feel as though I'm a little more focused. Yeah you have to let the thing evolve, fixing things as you go can be a sign of having the wrong mindset, specifically "expectation". Shifting from graphite to charcoal can be quite difficult, you have to let go of the control you get with graphite and let the charcoal do its thing. So being present to the way the drawing develops is critical :)

Yes, I agree with you on my expectations of the results of my efforts - I always have tried to aim for perfection which I realise now in my old age can be more of a hindrance than a help and is a throwback from my years in the precision engineering industry. Yes, time to change my mindset and allow things to evolve naturally and at their own pace! Enjoy the rest of the weekend. Cheers for now.

Beauty! Alot of artists on the net speed up their work so its only a few minutes long and comes out as a short video. I always thought your style would look neat sped up fast. hehe!
