smmydvr Really do some research on him because just last year a regular rain storm basically flooded the city because the city’s pumps didn’t work because he didn’t know. He basically destroyed people’s homes and other Poseidon’s since he was the leader of New Orleans Sewerage and Water Board. I suggest you google “Down the Drain” a local story about mitch landrieu and the flooding.

The type of people that become cops is actually changing quite a bit. It definitely used to be a more blue-collar profession with big draws from the military. As places across the country have started requiring degrees, better testing, etc., the people have also improved. I can also tell you that this new "generation" of cops is actually far more critical of bad cops than most of the public, it just isn't publicized very much
This Mayor has incredible stature. He's impressive on so many metrics. A born leader.

the main and only constant attack on gun control is that if we have it then it is only a matter of time till the government comes for all of them. Its not about how many die from guns its the feeling they have that its their right as an american to own a firearm and anything getting in the way of that is something to fight against. Majority of gun owners want better gun control and background checks but they aren't going to fight for it because of a lot of factors like social pressure from their own and the thought of all guns being taken away, so even though they agree on the control they don't want to take any steps and say nothing can be done. Then you have the minority that made it their lively hood like the NRA they get paid from guns and they are very united and focus on gun related bills all the time to make sure nothing happens ever
@Noliving6 жыл бұрын
It doesn't help to have things like the assault weapon ban that are essentially banning the most popular long guns in the USA but only might have an effect of reducing the entire gun death total by a few dozen each year. It is kind of like banning mobile phones to reduce car deaths and then saying see we didn't take away your phones because you can still buy land lines. None one is really interested in anything but semi-automatics for rifles, handguns, and increasingly shotguns anymore, like wise when it comes to phones really all anyone is interested in now is mobile phones.

At approximately 4:00 or a little there after New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu says Americans don't need weapons of war. I disagree. The second amendment give us the right to bear arms not necessarily just to hunt or protect our homes from burglars. The second amendment gives us the right to bear arms to protect ourselves, our community, and our country from the possible tyranny of government. The first amendment contains very important rights, and is a test of governments propensity toward tyranny. If our right to free speech, and press, right to assembly to address grievances, and the right to freedom of worship, and to abolish any connection that religion may have with government is restricted, manipulated, or outlawed by government then we have a government that is tyrannical. The second amendment then gives the people the power to correct the tyrannical flaw that has infected our government. That said if keeping weapons of war out of "we the peoples" possession has merit, then before the people give up their weapons of war, the police have to give up their possession of weapons of war. During the Clinton administration police were being armed with weapons of war. Then in 2005 Congress under Bush started to finance the purchase of weapons of war for police departments across the country. Our police departments did not, and still do not need to be militarized. They had no real excuse to do it during Clinton's reign of power, and the terrorist excuse in 2005 is extremely lame, and suspicious. It seems to me that government may not be afraid of terrorists. Maybe they are actually afraid of the American people, and want to disarm us. Final word here is when the police throw away their weapons of war, then maybe the people can throw away their weapons of war. I can agree that the average American probably doesn't need an automatic weapon, but as long as the police are militarized the American people are not going to give up their weapons ever.

'You could run on that!' Yes, I as a conservative would VOTE for that. I support the second amendment but that doesn't mean every single person needs a fucking assault rifle. If you can't defend your home with a simple rifle or a handgun, you're not well trained enough to deserve a gun. If you are being charged with domestic violence, you don't deserve a gun. Yes, even under false accusations, fucked as that is. I'd rather deal with going to jail for 'violence' after being beaten and locking myself in a room (thanks Chicago police, I'm sure a bleeding woman in a closet was a threat to a coked out completely unharmed man) than a single person be murdered. If my inconvenience saved a life, I would not hesitate.

It's good to have the Mediterranean Sea between Europe and Africa, showing that humanity, had a mental problem to solve. At the moment the threat of different people, changing the face of what you're bonded with, is still dominantly present (in some areas). Just do what you can to make the country flourish and bright, and the statute responsible. Just like the sun, out of reach, and really making my skin dark at the same time. Does come with better brain protection. Of course people will flee droughts, I would, and will be informed as well. As is an European union, which does exist so now they're looking for it. Of course the UK (island) can communicate with the mainland, I see they have some history there to settle, I think. One European. We don't. Sanders' chance was in 2016, and even then his age was a major consideration. I was as big a supporter of Sanders as anyone else out there, but I am LIGHTYEARS less likely to vote for him in the 2020 primaries simply because he's 4 years older, asking for a further potential 8 years of administrative duties. Nope. Too old. He would have to run the single greatest vice presidential candidate the United States has ever seen because that person almost assuredly will be the president. You'll probably never know how sorry I am to have to speak those words. I believe we missed a formative moment in American history in our failure to elect Sanders, something that probably won't come again in our lifetimes. I'm acutely aware of this loss and always will be. But the moment IS past. The chance has been missed. We have to look forward now and that's going to require someone less likely to die in office. We cannot make the type of changes Sanders proposed with half measures. Losing an administration mid-stride would absolutely short circuit that movement. I want Sanders to stay far away from this election.

I think they should drop the RPM (Rounds Per Minute) statistic for any firearm and replace it with the GI60S (Gone in 60 Seconds) statistic for ANY weapon to indicate how many lives could be wasted in that span of time. The metric should use a standard grid of potential victims... say... people arranged at 10' by 10' spacing and going out to 100 square yards. At the commencement of the initial attack, the potential victims are allowed to run away from the weapon-wielder. Knives? Maybe a GI60S rating of two or three. Bats? Maybe a GI60S of 4. An AR-15? A GI60S rating of roughly 45 (between 30-60 rounds per minute with increasing rates of fire decreasing accuracy). Re-stating weapon lethality in this manner would make it much more difficult for the NRA to justify their "guns don't kill people, people kill people" mantra.

I was walking in an adjacent neighborhood this week just after sunset and I resemble the two in the video here, so was the police officer. I walked past a driveway by way of a truck with its lights on and what I noticed was a police officer at the garage door of what looked like his home. I startled him when he heard me walking by and I watched him snap for his gun without thinking consciously what he was doing and I said something to him. The point is that he seems to be trained very well, to the point of a subconscious move similar to that if you played an instrument or something similar in function where thought comes from the later mentioned because of acquiring of skill.
