"You should focus your gaze on who's exploiting and manipulating you, and those people exist on both sides of the coin!" "Keep your eyes on the register and don't look at the people staging a fight in the store." So many great gems in this video. Wynton Marsalis is a classy guy. His ability to put things into perspective and describe things through analogs and storytelling is amazing. It's refreshing to hear somebody telling it like it is.

Wow Bill managed to get Wynton on to speak on these issues?? Hope other networks catch wind of this and get him on other mainstream networks to drop wisdom on the populous, it’s like having a cultural elder, an old soul who can tell us what it was, what it is, and what it should be. Nothing but respect to this jazz legend and American icon for saying what needs to be said, thank you Mr. Marsalis!

The problem with" keeping eyes on the register", is the money in this country is hidden, and where the nation's money goes to is hidden. No one wants to even talk about balancing the national deficit. And NO attention is being brought to the Federal Reserve, where our money actually comes from.Too many secrets and zero oversight . All of that is obfuscated with race, riots and shootings weekly.

@@jimmymags6516 You obviously know nothing about America history. Who made America... it was three nations. British French and Spanish. America only exists because Native Americans were crushed by white setters. The American flag is the old Grand Union flag without the stars. The languages of America are English and Spanish. The laws of America are direct copies of English law. Apple pie is an English recipe. Nothing in America is original. So how can it be the greatest country on Earth when is a bastard child of England. A country that had had mire impact on the world more than the US has. The U.S. was so far backward it's had racial segregation in 1960s and laws designed to hold back black American's, and other countries integrated white and black people with the same rights. American still has racial divides and that is the fucking point. It's just that Trump and his base are blatantly obvious racist. The left is not wanting to turn America into a backward nation it want to return it back to the progressive nation it was when 1776 a population decided to move forward against it's leader of King George. Progression is looking to unite and move forward. Trump wishes to return it back into a past of blatant slavery and ruled by fear and hate of people based on their skin color. Been a huge fan of Wynton for years, incredible talent, was a stunning Classical player and jazz is in his DNA. And he rolled the knowledge here, jeez, never heard him spit like this on social issues, and he does so with a remarkably wide lens. Clearly a highly intelligent guy. And yet...he is too scared to fly lol. That always cracks me up, reminds me of Dennis Bergkamp (although he explained why he was too scared to fly after he got terrified in an incident on a plane) Or maybe it's just in the Covid era, I dunno.

The recent arguing in this country is something I liken to fighting over who gets to steer the ship as it sinks makes no sense and will end in tears no matter what.
