This kind of prediction didn’t start 2 years ago. It started at least 10 years ago. Unsustainable for 10 years. A tipping point hasn’t tipped for 10 years. This is a full cycle of boom and bust for the US. Is it a genuine prediction or wishful thinking? Actually same problem as happening in China, shadow banking but it nowhere as compared to China , government now taking strict action against shadow bank we called it NBFC (non banking financial company) .I was working in bike showroom where many NBFC provide credit to castumer now they strictly regulated by RBI . but it cost downturns in consumption, This situation is kind credit Buble Now government wake-up and it control in early stages . PMC bank is co operative bank .it is different then credit bubble of NBFC .

The Fed did shrink the balance sheet, it only stopped shrinking it very recently. This was back in 2017, so of course a lot of the info is colored by the information they had at the time.

One reason for the rapid construction in China may also be the poor quality. 12 years ago I spoke with a German architect working in China and Dubai telling me that a housing project in Germany would take 21.4 years until they yielded (after paying off credit) their first profits. In China the span is just 5 years. And after 15 or 20 years the buildings are ready to be demolished. : D

The thing is that China is very different from Russia. China gets smarter from the lessons of the Soviet Union. The Soviet Union was isolated from the rest of the world economically. By contrast, China is smart enough to mingle its economy with the western world. It is extremely hard for western countries to decouple from China now. Therefore it is like ten times harder to beat China than beating the Soviet Union. America has some tough battles to fight.
