Kyle Bass is a very serious economist, anyone dismissing his opinion based on his research is almost without a doubt being led astray by confirmation bias to a bullish outlook. It is a natural human phenomenon that people want to believe in positive things. However, truth must be objective (as much as possible) for it to be truth and not a flight of fancy for the weak-minded.

I don't see how China is "stealing" 300 billion a year. A trade deficit does not mean one side is better off. China has trade deficits with lots of countries, are those stealing from the Chinese? Or is it about currency manipulation? Leaving aside the fact that the US also manipulates its currency, why would it be stealing if they held their currency low to sell the US goods more cheaply? This is hogwash.

very interesting interview, Kyle certainly reflected on his huge mistake in betting against RMB in 2017, his opinion that Xi wants to deval when it's a show of strength played out beautifully at the height of trade war last month. China will be running short on dollars but internally China does not have too much dollar-denominated debt, so I do share Kyle's opinion that Chinese banking systems and real-estate markets, no matter how dire the situation is, will do just fine because of strong central government backing, it will be the RMB that takes the hit. At this point in the business cycle, I'm afraid it's gonna be a global currency war

I am talking about millions of chinese people who live overseas. Has any one of them telling you what would happen if you let CCP to have massive economic growth, you bet somebody did, probably a lot of them trying to influence the US government not to bring China to WTO. It’s just the level of greed in the government and Wall Street can’t help themselves. They have to let it blow up in their faces with the cost of ordinary people. That’s exactly happens today. People inside and outside of China are suffering because how CCP has been able to grow the economy and have tighter control of the people. Sad!!!!
