I really like my 7m. I wing on inland lake's. And have a blast when it's 10-15 knots. I wait for a wind gust and it keeps on going. I use 1900 cm2 wing and 90 l. Board. Off course it handles different then my 4.5 or 5.5 but otherwise I wouldn't have a session. Completely stocked about winging! (Sometimes when i am winging on the sea i notice that it goes earlier in salt water, rather a big difference). Greetings from Holland!

Matt, adding one red shim to the 195 tail and pushing the mast to the FG 7-9 range really helps to get the 725 or 925 going in light wind. I'm 82kg. Total game changer. Used to have to use the 1550v2 or 1325. The new mast really helps with the takeoff as well. Love the 935.

When you say you used to have to use the larger area foils, are you just better that you can use the smaller 725 or 925, or is that setup just as easy to get on foil as the larger front foils?

@@drs_888 The honest answer is skill but it’s also understanding how HA foils operate. I was using the 925 and 725 today with my 39L board and 5.5 wing in 14-26kts wind-started with the 925 then went down the 725. I’m 82kg. The idea is to allow the board to plane and then really start to pump and load the foil so that it can start to rise in the water column without any drops. The HA foils also have far less drag than those with a lower aspect ratio and/or thicker profile so they slip through the water very efficiently.

Is there a chart that shows you at your weight what type of wing to use??? in certain wind condition's??

Yes HS1850 or HA1325 and I would have been jamming. 7m probably would have done the trick too. As well a board in the 90 L range would have helped.😂 Yes Mode is in the pipeline too. The Mode doesn’t have as good of low end as the Nova LW as well the stiffer leading edge makes it more technical to pump up on foil. Once on foil you ride faster on the Mode and it has better top end. I was really surprised by the mode 7m but would take the nova LW over the mode for the 7m size.

I use my F-One 8m CWC all the time in low wind. Have you tried that one for comparison?

I have both the cwc and north 8m and the cwc is better in almost every way.

Yes I have ridden both back to back. Both have good attributes and some bad. The good of the North are the bars have a more direct feel so when you pump you don’t loose anything in the pumping action. Also you can slide your hands up and down the bars to put the wing in the right spot. The fone soft handles loose some of the pump. The North has a deeper draft and shorter wing tip so it pumps up on foil really well and doesn’t get hung up as bad. The fone has those mini struts that keep it from flapping as much when you get powered up and it is lighter weight.

If you had a larger mid aspect foil on do you think your session would've been way better? Or been able to make a 7 work Also does this mean the Mode review is coming soon?
