Carpenter is not a good comparison. There are high class specialists. The furniture made by their hands will stand for a hundred years. I would say correctly the dentist -profit man. 😊

I know... I thought about that as I didn't want to disrespect carpenters or mention them in a negative light. I think the point is those dentists who simply carve teeth and create shapes in teeth driven by profit rather than any biological basis vs. those who understand the biology of what they are doing and are driven by healthcare needs rather than money. That's the main difference I was trying to highlight, not taking away anything from the art of carpentry itself. 👍

Holistic dentistry is a total scam. A wallet tap. But I disagree at 1:45 where you criticize being focused on profit. Dental practices are usually for profit businesses. Does that make me unethical or just a “tooth carpenter” if I want to make a profit?

I think you are misunderstanding the point at 1:45. The operating term is “focus!” That’s the key. Obviously your focus should be healthcare, not profit. If the focus is profit one should be in finance and not healthcare. But in healthcare, if the provider provides adequate care and service he/she creates value and clearly should get compensated for it. But if the focus changes from creating value to creating profit, the healthcare component is switched to a business and unethical behavior becomes common place. We’ve then collectively lost a profession and replaced it with business. No one said healthcare is a non for profit; but the syntax error of putting profit before value vs. value before profit is the main distinction here and changes the main dynamic of the profession. That we can’t have as true dentists. I hope that makes sense.
