Do you ream your pipes?? 🤔🤔 Check out @thelittlestplumber for some valuable insights (and some added humor) on why it matters. Also a mighty fine display of soldering using Oatey Lead Free Solder 🦝

How about why reaming is important?😂😂. What happens when you dont…
@craigwiddison411816 күн бұрын
It causes cavitation in the water and it eats the pipe.

So why would reaming the inside of the pipe prevent leaking? The outside is more important to ream. I mean youre not soldering the inside. So you either didnt ream the outside of the pipe or didnt film it.
@TylerSmith-qx6uz21 күн бұрын
Because it causes vortices and erodes the pipe on the inside.

Look more like corrosion on the outside. The original plumber didn’t wipe off the flux.

Technically speaking, thats not soldering, its brazing
@PWgadgets21 күн бұрын
Nope, copper pipe soldering typically takes place at temperatures between 350°F and 600°F. The American Welding Society (AWS) defines soldering as a joining process that occurs below 840°F, while brazing occurs above 840°F

@@PWgadgets and map gas burns at temps significantly higher than that

@@thefirelord3148 but your not using direct heat for soldering, it only heats the pipe to draw in the solder. Higher temp gas just makes the process quicker, but is not a requirement to get a good joint
@justinwizard477621 күн бұрын
Brazing is hotter. That's solder. And yes mapp gas does get that hot. The gas gets that hot. You don't need to the copper glowing red to sweat.

@@thefirelord3148you use a brazing stick when brazing and solder when soldering bud...that was soldering.
