yeah, this is more advanced stuff. you should start with understanding sidechain compression and also the first video i have on sidechain compression.

Does it also work with other non-Cocko plug ins with Side-chain?
@Chris_Porro_Land_o_Naps10 жыл бұрын
the principles would be the same. you need 2 signals, you need to route them, you need to understand some basic things about compressors like threshold, but the implementation could be very different. i can't speak for all the 3rd party plugins.
@dirtyharry188110 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I ask you because not all DAWs support side-chain with all plug-ins, even if the latter support it. F.e. Pro-tools can do it, but Sonar supports S-C only with Cakewalk plug-ins, at least from what I read (no first hand experience with both though.)

dirty harry1881 yeah, wish i knew. to be honest i don't use side chaining that much and at this point i use 95% stock plugins. i'm largely over the "gear" phase. good riddens. : )

Hey Chris, you seem to know your way around Reaper. Can we do something like what is on this video to help out on low end? kzbin.info/www/bejne/hWWtXoOJhb6fsNE. I'm fairly new to this and can't figure it out.

+Epi Bear hey epi. it usually takes some time for me to edit these videos and get them focused...not rambling. i can put your idea on my list. as a quick start. there is a js tone generator plugin and reagate in reaper. create a new track. make sure the gate is after the tone generator. set up the gate just like the compressor for sideschaining in my other videos. then adjust the threshold. you should also know the tone you use should work with other tones in your mix. for example if your song is in the key of A you may want to pick a tone in the key of A. chris
