its quite amazing how even a simple synth sounds so good. Has anyone tried to vocode with a guitar? im gonna try it. Thanks Kenny your videos always give me ideas !

Punk Duck I have, it's pretty fun. You have to put a lot of distortion on the guitar for it to sound good, but it works. Harmonics sound crazy.
@Bills_Place7 жыл бұрын
I used to occasionally use a guitar in place of the synth, but with a drum machine instead of a vocal for strange rhythmic chord patterns. Any sounds can work, though obviously some work much better than others.

Thanks for all your new videos, Kenny! So useful! I am now used to you very special "burst" of words / pause / burst of words way of speaking, and I even like it, it is like a musical signature :) (but this is strange by the way, because I am pretty sure I have seen a video of you in which you were speaking with a normal flow?). Keep up with this excellent work!

First, a huge THANKS for all this work and generosity you offer to us. You are one of the very best in the clarity of your tutorials on the net. You’re one of the ones with Reno Mello who definitely convinced me to buy Reaper. I tried ReaVocode and of course it works! But the sound is really atrocious, dirty and noisy. Is there a way to rework it or does it have to go through another plug-in vocoder? Thank you in advance for your response Yann

I wanted to make a reverse thing, like having a synth playing 1 note constantly (instead of voice) and a clean guitar (instead of synth in your example) that would control it. But it didn`t work, it still sounds like a clean guitar with some overtones of synth on the background. If you have any ideas how to implement it in another way I`ll be glad

Great tutorial, as always! I was wondering, is there a place on the cockos website where you can download ReaVocode? I am running Reaper 5.9 and I don't see it in my plugin list. I tried the cockos forum and google, but to no avail so far. Any ideas? ReaVocaode seems like a decent, straightforward vocoder.

This theory is basicaly for any vocoder? I mean the routing?
@revolutronic5 жыл бұрын
no . most third party vocoders can be just loaded as an FX onto the vocal track. as always reaper has everything but they´ll make it slightly overcomplicated und unintuitive to use.

How do you use your real instrument, like a guitar, instead of a fake sound (VST)? Also, how can you the words to sound clearer without using the sounds of the person speaking?
@otakuholly88852 жыл бұрын
ok SOOOOO this is difficult as hell, if you download the one piano zip you need to open it with 7zip, it will ask for a password, the password is C, then you extract it and use the installer, MAKE SURE TO SEND IT TO ITS DEFAULT PATH and COPY THAT PATH (it is under main drive, user, public, public documents, soundwave, piano) LOL!. Take ALL THE FILES FROM THE ZIP FILE AND PASTE THEM IN THERE Go there and find that folder and right click for properties and copy the path to your keyboard THEN open up your DAWS prefrences, go to the PLUGINS PATH, and go to the end of it, hit ";" then paste it there and THEN you can just hit FX and find the damn thing and itll open up, but its NOT OVER YET! you need to click the inside of the tv looking screen and then route AGAIN to that folder, find the .INS file and THATS IT!!! WALLAH.

It should be just add a vocoder effect on the track.Thanks Reaper for making it unatainable and sound like shit.I got it figured out.Getting a midi keyboard will help for sure.I suspect I will have to know the key the song is in and learn some piano to get it to work with a song.
