Kenny you have a gift for cramming so much useful information within such short videos. Your tutorials also convinced me to choose Reaper over other DAWs. Thank you and I can't wait for the next video.

This opens up so many possibilities for production. One thought is for creating custom vocal doubles without using delay or shift plugins. Also thought about using for creating DJ sets among many other uses. Laid out block loops anyone? Kepp up the good work & look forward to next mind opening video.

Kenny, I appreciate all your hard work for these tutorials. Imo the absolute best!! As well as your mixing videos on Groove 3, I've got my notebook writing down all the tips and tricks to apply to my sessions. I wish you lived near by I'd love to take you out for a beer and talk music. Cheers!

Excellent tutorial as always!! Can automation be applied individually?

Awesome tut as always, hey Kenny i was thinking today, it would be great to get a script to select every other item, or midi note after a grid split for example, now i see you selecting every other vocal manually in this video.

I use Logic, Ableton and Reaper but Reaper is the only DAW that continues to blow my mind every time I discover something new.

Great video Kenny I did not know about this feature in Reaper. My only questions can you snap to grid in free Item positioning and also can you antiquate the midi parts?

Question at 7:07 regarding changing volume of each item. My cursor does not change to the volume slider. Wondering if i missed a setup point?
@MattWillisMattFWB3 жыл бұрын
In the menu visible at 8:00 in the video - at the bottom is a dropdown labelled "Item volume control". Make sure that isn't set to "No handle"

Hey Kenny. I think your tuts are the best. Have listened for years. Can't seem to find the answer to this. When recording a second midi item with free positioning enabled it also records the previous take onto the new item. ???

Never mind. Discovered I was monitoring the track output. D'oh. Thanks again for all you do.

Does REAPER have a function something similar to folder tracks?
@stonail6656 жыл бұрын
Yes . Look at 4:23 he put all tracks into folder track.

Let's call this technique FIP... Way cool, certainly. I have to wonder, though, if - in larger projects - using FIP causes a performance-hit that some other technique (that effectively gives FIP) does not. Said another way, how does the user decide on this or that technique, while considering its impact on system performance? Might there be some add-on that shows the user Reaper system impact? Thx.
@REAPERMania6 жыл бұрын
The only extra CPU hit I can see is if you have hundreds of small items on a track and apply different FX to each of them.
