Super handy walkthrough guide! I just used it to change the caliper on my EP2. very clear camera work and guidance, no weird auto focus shifts where you can't see anything because you're clearly using a decent camera and not a phone. I would say for anyone doing the same change. there is a bolt on the other side of the disc shield (just out of the camera shot) that holds the hand brake cable in place and when removed provides enough slack to dis/re-engage the hand brake cable.

Straight into the job without needless preamble. Steady cam with good lighting. Clear narrative with bolt and spanner sizes included. Could have included the torque values for refitting and I would not have used the hardened metal teeth of mole grips on the brake pipe when soft surface pipe pinching clamps are available at low cost. Other than that, great video, and many thanks for your efforts in making it.

What's the procedure to rectify the handbrake mechanism if you didn't pump the brake before applying the handbrake?
@aaanton115 жыл бұрын
panic, 😂 if the lever has moved too far it will not return, the calliper might need dismantling. Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

Great video il be doing mine at the weekend I’ve been told only to fill the brake fluid between the max and min mark and not to the max is that correct? Thanks
@aaanton114 жыл бұрын
The reason being if you fill it to the max then replace worn brake pads the fluid will rise in the tank and could over spill. if you have newish brake pads all round fill it to the max, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

Awesome video buddy, just some questions .. do you recommend-using a torque wrench to do the caliper pin bolts as read they don’t need much tightening ? Also I’m going to replace all 4 callipers and refurb the old ones , should I flush the brake fluid with the old calipers on first then fit the new ones and fill up the master cylinder then bleed them ? Also I took both calliper slider pin bolts off and the caliper is stuck ? Crowbar time maybe 😂 Btw I subbed to your channel , keep up the good work 👊
@aaanton112 жыл бұрын
Great stuff, I prefer the feel of a ratchet when doing up these bolts, drain down the master cylinder, fill with clean fluid, remove old callipers and bleed through, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

Good video, did this job today before I saw you video but your video is really informative. I have one question, my handbrake mechanism spring on the caliper is not flicking back to its down position smoothly. Is there anything I can do to make it smoother or can I get a new spring without a full caliper change? Thanks in advance. 👍
@aaanton114 жыл бұрын
Your lever on the calliper is sticking, lubricate and work it with grips, can take 5 mins but it should free off eventually, if it doesn't new calliper needed, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

the inner pad with the little pin should fit into the slot on the capiler piston, but if the caliper piston is going counter clockwise when pressing the brake pedal- how it will turn? the brake pad cant turn.. im confused
@aaanton114 жыл бұрын
The piston only rotates when you wind it back in, when it comes out it does not rotate, its to do with the hand brake mechanism and self adjuster inside the calliper, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
