Thanks for making this video. I wish I had seen it the first time I had attempted to do my brakes. I am glad I saw this before I started changing them again, I know that this is going to save me a lot of aggravation. You are very thorough and clear in you explanation and demonstration. I hope you like your Taurus X as much as I like mine. Such a great and trouble free car.

What size is the bleeder nut? Thank you
@jackedelbrock7073 Жыл бұрын
I think, when putting the wheels back on, that you failed to install that torx screw. Not sure what that screw even does. All in alll, a very useful video. Consider aadding instructions about bleeding brakes.

Is releasing the bleeder valve optional I’ve done brake jobs before and never opens the bleeder valve to push back the piston and never had any problems afterwardv
@dannydoitall3312 Жыл бұрын
It may be harder on some cars than others to push the piston back in without opening the bleeder valve but can be done. Opening the bleeder valve also gets the old heated brake fluid out of the caliper instead of pushing it back up the line.

Do you have to have the special tool to retract the piston?
@dannydoitall33122 жыл бұрын
You might be able to do the job without the tool but you will have to find a way to apply pressure while turning to retract the piston.

I have a very important question. Can the brake fluid be low and you still have a little time to change the brake pads?
@dannydoitall33123 жыл бұрын
Yes, there could still be some brake pad life left. You would have to remove the wheels to check and see how much brake pad life is left. Fluid could also be low due to a leak in the brake lines or caliper also. Make sure you maintain the proper level of brake fluid in the reservoir.
