I recommend using thin strips of cardboard. It isn't too noticeable, but it's more useful than foam if you have aftermarket subs.

The remedy I found was going in through the bottom of the trunk and putting phone between the frame and the plastic piece. It pushes the plastic upward and makes contact with the rear windshield thus eliminating the rattle without having any visible foam through the window

@@cliffjao2245 you probably figured it, but you dont have to take anything apart. Shoving fiberglass insulation in (what I had available) until full, it stopped the deck rattle in my case.

On my rear hatch I stuff pool noodle foam in crevices and then used SILESS sound deadening mats works amazing damn cheap to

I know this is an old vid, but with my 2005 Maxima the deck rattle was insane. First, I grabbed a couple packs of foam that you'd use to install an air conditioner from Home Depot. I removed the rear deck cover and basically lined the entire area. Then with my gen max, there's the third brake light rattle on top of everything else! Even with the foam, the brake light was smacking against that window enough to annoy TF out of me. So, I grabbed a pack of clear acrylic... Ummm..."sticky dots"? Similar to the felt pads he mentioned only a hard rubber that has a little give to it. I r moved the third brake light housing and placed once clear dot on each corner of the housing, then popped it back in. Now, there's a little pressure between the brake light housing and the rear window, keeping things from slapping around. I definitely would be careful with a bigger system...I wondered if the pressure on the glass would make it only running a single Type R 12" with 500 going to it, so I

So, I was saying for my little thumper, this solved my problem. Next year I'm upgrading to a 1100 watt RMS amp to push the Type R, so I'm going to relocate the third brake light via a simple LED strip on the top of the window, then make a custom rear deck that I can bolt down, but still have the bolts hidden so it's nice and clean. This sub's a monster at that power, and I'd be super worried about cracking the glass. Hope I helped someone! 2005 Nissan Maxima 6th Gen deck rattle

What is causing the rattle is the trunk light, I had the same problem and after digging into it that was the issue. I lifted the rear deck lid and put in a old rag over the light. the light is right in the middle, towards the back next to the window. He uses foam to create pressure against the light and that works also. But, like i said it's the light in the trunk giving grief.

I cut a cushiony rope to about the full length of the deck and stuffed it in against the window of my Pontiac Grand am. Worked decently for awhile. Put some new jbls in and forgot to put it back. 😂

Buy cotton insulation from Home Depot or Lowe's remove the back deck flip it over and cut the insulation to the shape of the deck then buy a can of 3M spray adhesive same stuff used to install a headliner. Spray it on in inside of the deck and and press the cotton insulation down. Also if catch someone removing carpet from house or building get a piece of the carpet padding and cut it to the shape of your deck. BTW buy a pack of liquid clothes dye from the grocery store use gloves and dye your foam black so it won't show up at all

The latch in your bumper that holds your trunk down, if you loosen it, then push it down, your trunk will close much tighter and not raddle as much. Also, you licence plate. Take off any extras around the licence plate and use tape and foam pieces on all 4 corners near the bolts. Tighten then as tight as you can and make sure there is pressure on the foam. That wont rattle anymore either

I'm installing a 1600watt amp and duel Kicker CompRs in 2 days. I'm going to dynamat the top of the trunk and the rear deck. I told the installer about how the rear deck rattles already with just the stock system. He said it's hitting the window. I guess he's dealt with this before. Ill try using weather stripping or foam. maybe I picked the wrong car to put a system in but I'm going to try and make it work

I have like a rear clunking/rattle noise when driving through speed bumps for example, it sounds like it comes from the trunk but it´s confused, sometimes I think that it comes from the rear deck or something. Was this your case or you had this rattle noise because of a sub woofer or something?

you literately pop out the hole rear interior. start with the pillers and then the 2 white pieces up top its all push pins and 0 screws

toyota corolla 2018 is a rattle monster. OMG, I can't believe it rattles as much as it does lol. The rear deck is so poorly crafted, and cheap.

+CloudTT You can use air conditioner weatherseal foam (weather stripping). Find it in the weather stripping section in Home Depot or Lowes.

Yavor M. If it's anything like mine, there are a couple plastic tabs holding it in on the far back, accessible in the trunk. I had to squeeze them and push up at the same time, then drop my seat backs down and pop a few more clips out. Hope that helps if you haven't already figured it out.

For me it was the top window tabs which are used for positioning the glass . There is a mazda service bulletin for it - Affects MAzda 3 and MAzda 6. The tabs are either bended or cut off, as they are no longer needed once the glass is positioned
