I did a solder repair on my 2012 Jeep Wrangler. I am glad I did not know about thermal shock at the time or I would have not soldered it. I did solder mine and it worked well. Seems good and strong.

I highly doubt the window would break by using a soldering iron for a few seconds.

Did solder repair with a pen solder iron. Worked well no broken glass. Glass shop told me in the glass would be $430 and that they couldn't solder it, well I guess I proved them wrong! 👍

Permatex popped off within 24 hours of letting it fully cure. I'm inclined to try soldering at this point, though my grid pad is pretty messed up from a previous "repair" by the dealer.

My truck the piece that on the glass that the wire was connected to came off so it pure glass exposed does this Kit fix that ? There is nothing to solder on the glass anymore.

Permatex sucks after a week. Did all the correct things. An it just popped off. So. I guess I’m going to solder it on.

I tried the Permatex, followed the directions TO THE LETTER. Tab fell of as soon as I took off the tape. Worthless. Gonna try soldering it this weekend
