Is it ok to change the rear diff fluid if it has never been done before
@737mechanic5 ай бұрын
Yes, it is always ok to change the diff fluid no matter how long it has been.

I put 3 quarts in mine 9.76. It started to slowly come out the fill hole. I hope it's not over filled. The truck sat like 1 hour after driving when I did the service.

If your rear differential is the G80 your not suppose to use gear oil with a limited slip additive and the Valvoline gear oil you are using says "contains limited slip additive". Some people have had problems with gear oil with the limited slip additive and some claimed they have not when using in their G80. Just thought i would let you know.

Yea I saw a lot of people saying this and saying that but I went by what valvoline says and they say it is fine. I have over 10,000 miles since the change and diff has been working just fine.
