Broo the same thing happened to me when I went yesterday to get my rear window tinted on my TJ luckily the glass broke when they were doing the tint now I’m just waiting for them to replace the glass

Did they remove the hinges? Or struts? I’m wondering if I tightened mine too much!?

@@SmokinMonkeyOG they removed the struts and they said it was the original window so since there old there easy to brake plus they said they were probably putting to much pressure on the glass you have to make sure when you lift it you don’t lift it up to high because that’s when your putting pressure on the window

You guys recommend just going to a shop and getting it installed??, I'm going to a window shop to get the two side glass windows installed . Although the rear window seems easy to install, I keep thinking of your video with what happened ....

If you’re already going to get the other two done then see if it’s not much more to get the rear. But if you watch my video I posted after this one I replaced the window a second time and only used my hands to tighten the bolts no ratchet or anything and it’s still good till today. Just don’t over tighten like I did lol

Oh shit that sucks bro! I agree those nuts should be hand tightened. Cringed a bit when you used your power tools on it haha I'm surprised it didn't blow up then. Looking forward to more working on the jeep content since you jinxed yourself by asking "what else can go wrong?"

I only used the power tools on the hinge to the roof not the hinge to the glass. I did those by hand it’s a ratchet bit guess I over did them

Just got my rear glass installed, with a buddy's help. We were super careful and never even used a wrench on those bolts. We were standing there, admiring the finished work, and BOOM! It exploded into a million pieces. And they want us to take these things off road?!?!?!? Mine cost me $340 for that glass... plexiglass or lexan is going in now.

I put in another piece of glass from another wrangler TJ (bought a hard top for $45 and took the glass out). I did it hand tight really carefully and it’s still good till today. And I off road the Jeep a lot

If you go with a JK, stay away (if possible) from the 3.8 motor, it is kinda reliable but very under powered

Ahh that sucks. I would totally freak out with all thos tiny pieces of glass everywhere! Tbh, idk if you should sell it. You've put a lot of time into working on the TJ, but I can relate to all the headaches they can cause. If you do get a new Jeep, I hope you get a JL. I test drove one a couple months ago and THEY ARE SO NICEEE. Maybe a rubicon?? Whatever you decide to do, we will all support you!!

Ya I’m gonna see. I found a whole hardtop for $45 for I’ll grab that and keep rolling for now. But if something else big happens I’m going for a JL for sure. I’ve rented them and love the driving style and everything about them.
