Nice work. I've had my '99 in a friend's barn for a year and rust (from condensation?) apparently locked up the rear wheels, though a healthy dose of WD-40, some back & forth, etc., eventually broke them free. Very nice to see you take the hub off, as the one I was after yesterday didn't want to come off, though I did didn't try that wiggle. There's also apparently a way to back the shoes off of the hub, in case that were a factor, with some "star wheel" screw or something on the back side of the wheel assembly, as Haynes states, anyway. Hard area to get at and / or see ... not sure about that, or even if the shoes were a factor, though rust on the hub growing out towards the shoes, maybe. Anyway, thanks again for the video.

FYI: on mine, the new hub assembly was too tight to slip on easily. Instead of forcing it, I heat the bearings with a heat gun to about 150-180 degrees F and it slipped right on.

Same thing happened on my accord. I ended up replacing all 4 bearings, if 1 went out than all of the grease is dried up on the rest of them, unless u don't plan on keeping your car than just do all 4

I will be replacing rear assembly, my Q is : Any particular reason you have to install a new lug nut?

Question: When I make a right turn I get that same sound from my rear passenger wheel then the break assembly comes apart -- is this happening because of a bad bearing ?
@bundysgarage3 жыл бұрын
Jack up the rear passenger side up and get the tire off the ground. Once it's off the ground spin the wheel (emergency brake off) and see if you can hear the noise. If you can most likely it's your bearings in the hub assembly.

To do a Accord 5 lug conversion. Is it as easy as removing the 4 lug hub assembly and just sliding a 5 lug version back on? And get a 5 lug rotor obviously…
@bundysgarage2 жыл бұрын
No i think you would have to change out the brake assembly as well. But why would you want to do that?
@XTheJenovaProjectX2 жыл бұрын
@@bundysgarage because 4 lug wheel options are limited. If you have 5x114.3 you have tons of wheel options.

It the funds were available I would have replaced or at least cleaned up the rear brake hardware and checked the inside of the drum with that amount of rust.
