I actually need to replace the door latch/power lock on the driver front door. I will look into speaker replacement at that time. If possible, I'll do a speaker video as well. This would be in a week or two from now.

Thanks for the video. To remove the two plastic panel plugs, push the center button inward, then I used an upholstery tool (like a prybar with a V-notch) or a flat screwdriver to remove the plugs. The upholstery tools are plastic and less likely to scratch the door panel. To re-install these plugs, you push the center back out to allow the teeth to collapse for easier re-installation.

Actually on those 2 plastic retainers on the end of the door. You are not supposed to pry those out and that's why it broke. If you look closely at them in the center you are supposed to take a small object, I use an ink pen and push in on the center of them. You will feel it go in about a 16th of an inch and then you just pull them out. Try it. I actually love these types of retainers they are much easier to remove and replace than most of them. You will feel when you push in the center when the retainer when it is disengaged. If you look closely you will see the small circle in the center of it. P. S. To reset the retainer for reinstalling it just push on the bottom of it with your finger until it pops up above the surface about a 16th of an inch. You will feel when it's in the right place. They made these with 3 positions, just simply playing with it for a couple of seconds and you will find all 3.

Very helpful video! Front door panel is nearly identical, just watch for the wires for the lock/unlock button and the mirror control.

How do you take the front doors off I tried for hours today to get them off but the back doors got off and took the electrical attachment off but the front ones couldn't get the electrical off and the doors off weird got the back ones off and never took a door off a vehicle before and I got the hood off am painting my Chevy Malibu 2008 but the lights seem more complicated to get off so wanna leave them off you have to do a lot more than my GMC Canyon 2007 but the hood was easier to take off on the GMC Canyon 07 and I took the front lights off but never took the doors off but after get done painting the Malibu will paint truck again am going slower in my process now of painting been messing with getting rust spots on it almost a month and sprayed polyester primer on top of the Bondo but still have to get these last two front doors off then paint it have two vehicles now so can spend more time on one vehicle.

Lock knob manually and remotely seams to work on my 2010 Malibu driver side rear door will not open. Do you know a way to remove the panel with door closed without destroying the panel?

MudRFunR - I changed my front ones out last month plus the tweeters was real easy, that's actually what made me change the 6×9's cuz they couldn't keep up with the aftermarket. now on to look for the right radio to install

+john1240able I'm posting the lock actuator video tonight. At the end you can see the rear fender above the wheel is very rusty. It's bad but it;s the only place with rust. It runs great, like new with 196 000 kms. How's your Impala doin?
