If the top mounts in the rear are not to rusty you can fix them by using the inner rubber part from the front top mounts! It is the same as at the rear side and the rear top mount is just riveted. So it's easy to change. By the way: The dents in the panel on the C pillar can be removed with heat...

Great work again Bruno! I've done this job; it's made more difficult by the Sachs shockers, which have their spring cradle offset 90 degrees to the original parts. It's why the top mount/rubber/ spring don't line up, so you have to adjust it all on the car with the spring compressor still fitted. Also, those old top mounts still look salvageable compared to rusty UK units! By the way, you sound a bit out of breath sometimes, might want to get yourself checked out 🏋️‍♂️

Hello. It's just copper grease

@alfaromeonoproblem Ah, OK. It looks gold in color in the videa. But on the rubber I would only use silicone and synthetic grease. All other greases are oil petrolium based, which harms rubbers and plastics.

Never heard of the 392mm, but I've tried the 398mm and they were useless. I went for Sachs 436mm in the end and they were OK.

I had all my shocks replaced and the front springs and now the right front of the car is 2cm higher than the left front and the left rear wheel is like it's collapsed. We don't understand why. Everything seems put together correctly. Double checked the front struts were the right ones. But we didn't touch the strut bearings or whatever they are called in English. We are wondering if the previous owner did something wrong there. I heard that the right front strut is supposed to be an inch longer than the left and then the strut bearings or spring pans or whatever it's called in English should also be different left and right to compensate for the extra length but it seem like there is no difference on my 166. Really confusing. Is there anyone here that is really an expert on this and not just guessing like me ? 😅 Should the car stand perfectly level or is the right front supposed to stand higher? If that is the case then WHY ? 😳 Looks like sh't to me. 😥

My 166 is a 2.0ts 2004 (face lift) So I understand that both struts at the front are equal. Does this also count for the strut bearings and all that? In simple words: Is the front suspension symmetric left and right? Thanks a lot for the help. I have heard so many opinions. I need a real expert and you are the one I trust most 😁 It's surprisingly hard to test this stuff since we don't know the weight balance of the car. I already put 40kg extra weight in the right side of the trunk to compensate for the heavy navigation and cd changer on the left but no idea if that is enough. I noticed the muffler is also pretty heavy.. Rear shocks are replaced but not the springs. I really regret that 😞

@@nsz2302 Why not? It is stronger engine. Especially low down. It is all aluminium too. Has standard direct injection problems, like any other DI engine.

@@DashCamSerbia it's more sluggish revs lower and overall feels more restricted on top of all that the timing chains and guides are very hard to find and can be done only with the engine out.
