Like you said, lube for poly bushings (the sticky silicone stuff that comes with bushing kit). But can also apply teflon tape to bar, which provides a very slick surface that helps with friction. It looked like bar you took off had both lube and teflon. Was bushing poly? I don't recommend poly control arm bushings, but they're ok for swaybars. The teflon trick works well so you don't have to lube as often, plus when you do need to relube, the bushings aren't difficult to get to.

I believe these bushings were just rubber. They were quite pliable and didn't have that glossy poly finish.

Those are some damaged front fenders lol. If you want to replicate, loosen your lug nuts and drive on the highway. If you're lucky the wheel will come loose and dent the front fenders.

This installation has been overlooked for quite some time. A lot of AP1/2 rear sway bar installations on KZbin but this one is by far I’d say is the best. Any difference on the diameter size between the old OEM and the yellow sway bar?

It depends on what you're looking to do. This was a customer's car and they just bought this as a set along with their Ohlins IIRC. But they will typically increase roll stiffness which can make your car feel more responsible. They may also allow for the roll stiffness to be tuned, so you can tune for oversteer/understeer.

Looks like Sakebomb sway bar… those should be 21mm (smaller than stock AP1)

21mm bar is smaller/ softer. I am pretty sure they just paint an NC Miata front bar yellow. This is basically the Miata bar mod.
