I’ve just ordered this seat for my 2.5 year old but she’s only 84cm tall, do I need to use the insert still? Also I remember you being around when my 11.5 year old was small, great to see you pop up again ❤

Oh wow, that's aound the time that i first started. :) The insert says up to 87cm, but some children will fit for longer.

Hi, Thank you!! I will do a Safe-Way M video as soon as it stops raining, hahaha! These two seats are actually almost identical, the only differences are that the Safe-Way doesn't have the legroom spacer and has tether straps that have to be pulled tight by hand. It also doesn't have the side impact block that you can see on the side of the Max-Safe Pro. The installation is exactly the same.

Děkuji za video. Jestli vidím dobře, tak opěrnou nohu máte na podlaze s přihrádkou. Výrobce auta to umožňuje? Mně bylo sděleno, že tam tak sedačka být nemůže. Jenom na pevné podlaze. Jaké je to auto?

Hi, In older cars with storage compartments you can either extend the car seat's leg into the bottom of the open compartment, or fill it and keep the lid closed. Some manufacturers do a filler. Newer cars that have come out since 2013 are i-Size compatible and their boxes have reinforced lids that are safe to use with car seat support legs. This car is a new model that came out in 2014, so there's no need to worry about the storage compartment.

With the legroom spacer this seat takes up more room than the Minikid 2, so if your front passenger is tall, the Minikid 2 is better.

I will do one as soon as I can, the weather has not been very good lately. The Safe-Way M is almost identical to the Max-Safe Pro, the only installation differences are that the Safe-Way does not have a legroom spacer and the tether have to be pulled tight manually.

Can it be installed on a seat where storage boxes (with fillers) are if the leg misses the boxes please?

Yes absolutely. If the leg misses the box you don’t need to fill it.

What makes this seat any better than the cybex sirona T plus?

The fact that it last much longer and is rear facing only. The Max-Safe Pro is a rear facing only seat up to 125cm or 36kg, that’s about seven years. The Sirona only goes up to 105cm or 18kg, which is roughly four years. The Sirona can face forward from 15 months of 76cm, whereas the Max-Safe Pro is rear facing only up to seven years. This makes the Max-Safe Pro a much safer choice, the longer a child can rear face, the safer.

Without the legroom spacer it takes up 77cm of depth and with its 85cm. I think the Sirona is closer to the 77cm, definitely no more than 80. But it doesn’t last anywhere near as long as the Max-Safe Pro.

We have just fitted this car seat and my daughter has fallen. Her head flops forward as her previous car seat wasn’t upright like this seat

It depends on the car. Some cars have quite flat seats, others are more sloped. A rear facing car seat will be more upright in a car with sloped seats, so in those cars seats with a recline option are better.
