They can take a licking, keep on ticking (like Omegas). The rest fall apart internally when you barely drop them. I have a Zenith and a JLC due for repair from a fall. Two rolexes dropped with them, about a metre, onto a wooden floor. The rolexes took it in the chin and keep working normally. The other, more expensive two, have serious issues.
