GS boutique feels honoured to serve ME, and not beg to them as to why you deserve that watch (rolex). The only thing a GS or Omega boutique will ask me "cash or credit". If I ever wanted a rolex, I'd buy from a secondary market like chrono24. Raise those interest rate. Can't wait for the secondary market to crash and burn to the ground.

Lol, don't flatter yourselves. You can't afford a Rolex. And the reason for the games is that it's not a game. They are in HUGE demand and if they just had a waiting list jt be 20 years long. When I was 20, I waited six months for my first 'serious' watch-a Rolex Submariner. I walked in, asked for it, left my number and that was it. No pretending to befriend the staff, no buying lesser watches like Tudors to build a rapport. They're salespeople in a store, there for me to spend my money. I bought a few other watches-Panerai, IWC, Omega-from that dealer before returning to Rolex. Maybe that's why the wait times shortened; I got the Batgirl almost instantly, the lefty within a week, and they even called me about the Daytona, offering it if I was interested. Let me make something clear: I love Rolex watches. But if I ever felt they were doing me a favor by selling me one, I'd walk out and never return. I'd rather wear a G-Shock than beg an AD to take my money.

Every time this has been studied in practice, the vetting only leads to more secondary market activity. They can't control it and we have the numbers to prove it now.

I don't think aside from CELEBRITY customers, that Rolex handpicks customers and pairs them with specific watches. Dealers place requests every month for the watches they WANT. Then, when they receive whatever watches Rolex sends them, they then select whatever customer is a best fit (FOR THE AD) and that's how the "lucky" customer is chosen. If you are a customer, especially if you don't have a long history of expensive purchases for that dealer, you have a much better chance of getting a starter Rolex (OP, Datejust or the like) than getting a Daytona or a Submariner or a GMT-Master II. If you're willing to select a GOLD Rolex, your luck will be better still. It is the stainless Rolexes that are in highest demand.

So it describes in detail what to wear for Ladies: from socks to the texture on the suit jacket, shirt, and skirt colors for summer/winter. Then a complete make-up guide, that should be the same as a flight attendant pretty much. No perfume at all (just one that is Harrods specially developed smell). There should always manicure present (only approved designs and colors). And there are many more requirements as the day goes by. As for the male part, it is similar, and what makes you a true British gentleman: you can take 4 BOSS suits for the entire fiscal year, the BOSS store below will make it a perfect fit, also only approved shoe types and colors. Suit shirts must be always with STUDS & CUFFLINKS. Male Harrods-approved perfume only. So in the morning all colleagues (around 30) will stand in one line, where a manager would walk pass and check each colleague for things as manicure, male nails also need to be looked after,. The most important one is the bad breath (so you have to check each colleguea) a dry mouth caused by certain foods, smoking, poor oral hygiene is bad for business, so we have specially designed Harrods candies which were specially designed to solve any bad breath issues. Some of the problems can be solved after the meeting, but there are some problems such as after a heavy night people will be send home and not paid for that day. In the contract there is a point of banned drinking the night before of work. Why I am telling this, is that the customers there are just with very high expectations, wealthy millioners, politics, celebrities, artists, models, Royal famility members. And the requirement of the customer satisfaction is 98%-100% wi ththe mistery shoppers visiting you once a week (and they are really true customers, buying expensive things and get paid by Harrods for doing this). If the satisfaction score is less than 90% and it drops for the second week in a row, manager is getting rosted, penalized, and the department will be fined. Working there was another level of customer service experience, we were trained over and over again with the team, to assure all nations, people with different culture and status will get the service they expected and way beyond. So by having a Rolex watch and got it form there, from Harrods, I appreciate the exceptional service of finding my perfect watch model. So the personal connection with each customer or a family is the most important thing. Respect to all the people delivering for the customers!

Could you address the 32XX movement problem? Many have suffered from low amplitude for these movements. I'm one of them. A 126200 I owned had to be serviced within a year of buying it new from my AD due to low amplitude. It was losing about 15 seconds a day.

I second this, the silence on this issue is deafening.

I graduated from Purdue University in 1968. I wanted a Pepsi GMT. My father said he could get me one - for $500. I gave him the $$$. Today I still have the Pepsi GMT with a serial number that indicates it was manufactured in 1959. When I walk into a Rolex dealer, they salivate. Thanks, Dad!!!

When I was 17 in 2002, some of our school teachers took us punk kids on a field trip. One of the towns we visited was Lucerne in Switzerland. The tour guide told us that Bucherer in Lucerne was THE place to buy watches, and where a lot of celebrities get their goods. Of course, I was a stupid kid, from a very modest family, so I knew nothing about watches. I also think I was wearing a t-shirt 3 sizes too big for me and some gym shorts. I probably also had my backpack on. That was how I rolled back then. Me and some friends walked into the store out of curiosity, and I ventured into the green Rolex area. A Rolex sales lady approached me, and very kindly asked "Sir, would you like to see anything or would you like any information on any of our models?" She was super nice. I nervously said something like "Uh, no, just looking, thanks." She left me be, and said "I'm right here if you need anything." I was made to feel welcome being a kid basically and looking like I looked. Maybe it was a slow day, or maybe she thought my rich daddy was also shopping in the store. I wish. I didn't even have 1/100th the amount of money to buy any of those watches back then, yet I could have walked out with the Rolex of my choice that day if I had the cash. But this was 2002, maybe now they've decided not to sell to minors anymore.

Picked up a amzwatch's watch as my first watch last month and I’m absolutely in love with it. Perfect size, looks elegant, very comfortable. Now my only problem is holding off from buying more watches so quickly!

How do I know if a Rolex AD Sales advisor completed Level 3 certification? I am an executive recruiter vetting candidates for my Rolex AD client and I don't know a best question to ask if that person truly completed Level 2 or 3 Rolex or Patek sales training. Superb video!! This helped my search and my love of Rolex. Much Thanks.

Peter, my AD is working on a BLNR with the oyster bracelet and said he could get me a jubilee bracelet afterwards. Would I need to give up the original to get the jubilee?
@juxtaplay4 ай бұрын
You might be able to keep both! It depends on what The Crown says! I believe the Jubilee (aka Batgirl) goes for more than the Oyster on the market so my guess is you have to give them the Oyster.. It's worth a try though!

@@juxtaplay at $1900 for the jubilee I hope I’m able to keep both. At least that’s the cost he quoted me.

The family wears Rolex. I could buy more than one, but have no interest. I watched a video on the take down and refurbishment of a used Rolex. Fascinating. Fortunately, I only have basic watch making tools or I would be tempted. I enjoy taking an old, used and tired watch and sprucing them up.

Rolex holds all the cards : demand far outstrips supply so they can comfortably choose who they sell to and laugh all the way to the bank. To know that a Rolex is a mass produced industrial product just like a car or a computer and to be able to have such a stranglehold on the market is a testament to their marketing and business savvy.

Six reasons to want a Rolex (including quality and consistency). One reason not to buy a Rolex: allocation. If Rolex wants me to buy their watches I expect them to be nice to me. And a bonus reason: Rolex as a company is a charity and doesn’t pay any tax.
@mrgee0074 ай бұрын
Clearly on point 7 Rolex are getting it wrong then, as they seem to choose people that DO constantly flip watches, and the reason why there's more unworn Rolex's for sale than any other brand.

A year ago I walked into an AD, tried on a dozen watches and was able to buy the one I wanted the most right then and there. I was out the door in an hour. Of course, it was a Grand Seiko, not a Rolex. There are many watches I would buy before a Rolex even if I could get one easily.

Ref buying a Rolex. Times sure have changed. in '95, I bought my Submariner from a renown NY Jeweler through the mail. Yes, it's real. Have had it serviced 2x by Rolex, as well as inspected by others. BTW, in '95, my Date Sub cost $3k. If I knew then what I knew now, I'd have bought 3 of them.

You left the most interesting question unanswered. How do you get the Rolex spare parts with 2 of the 3 prerequisites missing?
@jean-marcducommun81854 ай бұрын
This video makes it clear why a clone is not a ROLEX even if it looks almost indistinguishable. Because you get a piece of work that will survive you and can be serviced and repaired eternally. Plus it keeps its price more or less in real terms while you enjoy it. That’s what the haters out there don’t get.
