Instead of investing on sovereign bonds buy gold on paytm/PhonePe/Augmont digital much better option. Sovereign gold bonds are paper gold(no physical gold). If you interested in physical gold take delivery post lockdown from Paytm/PhonePe:Augmont too.

Where would you get the cash against that physical gold?? You need to go to Jewellery shop; in Jewellery shop they would pay purchase rate not the actual rate with gst and other taxes; you would never get the fair value of gold when you would need cash urgently;GOLD etf is taxable but it has liquidity; sgb is safe but you can not sell within 8 years; you can not tell after 8 years what would be the rolling return of that SGB but RBI would take care regarding safety; these three options of buying gold have benefits as well as loopholes; one must choose according to his or her risk appetite or goals; there is no thumb rules for every one; one more thing with paytm gold many shops wont give cash against that gold; they would exchange in Jewellery against that paytm gold;and buying digital gold is more expensive than other form of gold

If demamd is higher than supply ,price will rise. Means demand is rising. Why ? I guess the value of other assest is falling much more faster than gold . So investors are shifting from other asset to gold asset increasing the demand and thus increasing prices.
