Faith as defined by Hebrews 11:1 is "confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." So how do we as Christ-followers come to conclusions that our faith is real? Con Campbell, along with many other scholars and historians, believe that the crux of Christianity is whether or not Jesus rose from the dead. And the fact that the apostle Paul and other martyrs were willing to suffer persecution and death because of their clear belief in the resurrection of Jesus speaks volumes. Watch as Con explains how, "It's harder to believe that he didn't rise from the dead than to believe that he did."

ABOUT THE SERIES:
Jesus transforms lives. One of the most radical transformations in the Bible was that of the apostle Paul, who went from an enemy of the faith to its great defender. This transformation intrigued New Testament scholar Con Campbell so much that he decided to trace Paul's life and missionary journeys from Jerusalem across the Mediterranean world to Rome. In this seven-part series, Con searches for answers to help him better understand Paul's personality and passion. Join Con on this travelogue-style adventure so you can better know Paul and the profound effect he had on Christianity.

For me it is a lack of evidence. The fact that you refuse to accept that some people are not so easily convinced as you, is a you problem. And no, I don't "not want to believe it". There’s many possible reasons why a skeptic may not be convinced; they love their sin, they are deceived like Eve was, they are self-righteous, they are too lazy to do research, they have a flawed epistemology. InspiringPhilosophy and Testify say “Hi.”

@@Nameless-pt6oj Unless you can read my mind I would refrain from using those arguments against me. And also, if you love sin, be a theist, because all sins will be forgiven if you but believe. So a mass murderer goes to heaven if they repent. The only sin that cannot be forgiven, is the sin of not blindly believing unsupported claims. So if you love sin, be a theist.

@@Nameless-pt6oj Actually,no.I wasn't born in a religious home and when i first read the bible i thought this has to be the most nonsensical book( presented as facts) i've read in my life. I read everything there is to read about religion and watch talk shows and documentaries. Not only that i'm not convinced, but i find no reason or possibility for a god to exist. Also knowing how other myths and religions came about, and then disappeared, it's more than obvious that christianity it's nothing more than another myth ,evolved from another myth..the Judaism. Basically christianity is Judaism 2.0 and Islam is Judaism 3.0.. I'm sorry, but listening to the bible actually lead me to a position of apathy towards religion and God. The bible coupled with my own childhood brought me to the position that God doesn't actually care about me unless I follow him, and I can't follow something that would child abuse, let alone use it as a test as I've heard so many Christians tell me. My life lead me to a position that the afterlife is worthless to me. Heaven, hell, it's all the same no matter what it is or how other people see it. If I follow God could he at least give me the complete end at my death that doesn't lead to an afterlife?

God cares about you even if you don’t follow Him, just like your parents love you even when you don’t love them. God cares about you enough to die for you and wants you to enjoy a relationship with Him, He can fulfill your deepest spiritual desires. God sometimes allows suffering to show the consequences of sin, to show that this is a broken world and so on. Jesus told the paralyzed man that it was his sin that caused his paralysis. God is sovereign and He’s waiting for you to accept Him.

God is telling you through me to come to Him and He can reform your life. Sometimes, God allows what He hates to accomplish what He loves (Joni Eareckson Tada). This is a sin-ridden world and your bad childhood shows that. God has not revealed to me why He allowed you to have a bad childhood but you can use your experiences to help other people. You know that when you really wish something to be true, you should be more cautious, not less, about your reasoning. That's because we as humans tend to fall to wishful thinking. @@inquisitorbacon8170 Just asking me that question takes a lot of courage. Maybe your a little tougher than you think you are. Please excuse my language but this man is a real scumbag. To impose yourself on someone like that is down right despicable. Here is my answer to your question: God knows the end from the beginning. Everything that is done in the dark will be brought to light. What's been told in secret will be shouted from the rooftops. God punishes unrepentant sinners. Exodus 9:12 tells us how God hardened Pharoahs heart. Pharaoh couldnt repent if he wanted to because it was in God's hands. God reserved a special punishment for that man because he harmed His children.I have family that was slaughtered in the Holocaust. Instead of wondering if Hitler repented or not after killing my family I focus on who I am and what I'm doing in life. Your true Father is waiting for you to give Him a chance. You don't have to understand everything. I sure don't and I never will. But I know this: as a believer in Jesus Christ I have been accepted into my true family. The Lord fights my battles for me. He wants to fight your battles for you. You have been fighting long enough. Call upon the Name of the Lord and be saved. You matter. Every Child of God matters and no longer has to suffer. That fact that you are commenting on a video such as this is an indicator. I'm sorry that you have had to suffer like this. There are other people just like you going through the same. Maybe you can help them. What the enemy has used to hurt you the Lord Jesus Christ will use to make you a blessing to others. Hurting one of the Kings children comes at a very high price.

Getting someone to read the bible critically is one of the best ways to turn a believer into an atheist. So I understand your reluctance to read the bible.

Look at the evidence for the resurrection, if Jesus is raised, then it’s reasonable to believe that the Bible is inspired by God. Problem solved.

I don't agree that everything hangs on the resurrection. What about all his teachings. Surely they are worth something on their own. Whether jesus was the literal son of God or just sent from God the teachings are gods commandments on how we should live. Surely this is important.

Paul said it plainly, “If Christ is not risen, our faith is a dead faith and we are still in our sins.”

To all the Christians out there, don’t worry about the atheists spamming the comments. Pray for them to overcome their hatred of God and to actually take the time to do an objective study of the Bible instead of cherry picking and ignoring the context. I’ve seen it hundreds of times with them.

Strawmanning atheists I see. Maybe you should talk to and listen to an atheist honestly and you could correct your erroneous assumptions.

J C: By "spamming the comments" I take you mean providing arguments against the nonsense the man in the video is spouting and which, by the way, you repeat in part ("... their hatred of God"). Your other assumptions ("[they should] actually take the time to do an objective study of the Bible ..." and "cherry-picking and ignoring context") are so full of irony I couldn't help but laugh. I've studied the Bible and I know - or could find - all the apologetic word games theists play in order to blind themselves to the obvious fact that the Bible is a book of myths and legends with some real places and people thrown in for verisimilitude. Do you have good, credible evidence to support your "God"-existence claim? The Bible won't do. The Bible is the CLAIM it is not the evidence.

So, according to you, atheists manage to hate something they don't believe exists - I'll have a glass of whatever you're drinking buddy....Perhaps we can then kick back, relax and listen to why you hate Goblins and Fairies. Sorry to break it to you, but if a person 'hates god', then they're necessarily a theist. PS All scientific studies conducted on prayer have confirmed it returns the same results as random chance, indeed, you'd get the same results tossing a coin. Lastly, reading the bible is what many have said led to their atheism and the irony is the fact it's theists who cherry pick the bible to fabricate what they want it to say - simple intellectual dishonesty, something that is synonymous with many Theists sadly.

turns out that even if the reanimation of a demigod from the dead was true, you are still truly men and even more miserable and wretched. Paul was either a magnificent conman....or clinically insane.
